Edit of
You left me a message because you restored edits I made to a page about Denis Baylor. I would like to edit that page. I did not intend to remove the text box but I did intend to make changes to the text of the article to correct factual errors and include more precise descriptions of his science. I plan to make a number of improvements to this page. Can you please explain what would be an adequate descriptions so that next time these changes are not removed? Thank you Elizabee920. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elizabee920 (talk • contribs) 14:56, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Constructive dialogue
Yes I was a bit prickly. But I ask you this, did either of you once attempt to engage in discussion? Did you investigate a single diff before rummaging through twinkle's options? Did you pause to consider that had you wielded those tools against someone less experience than myself the mess might have never gotten sorted, and someone might be wrongfully blocked? I note you have yet to strike your obviously false accusation on my talk page, which by the way is a WP:PA. My first attempt to engage was perfectly polite and it was removed using a semi-automated tool without an edit summary. I was *this close* to taking both of you to WP:ANI, and that's from someone who believes the title of that board should be moved to WP:CESSPIT. I still can't fathom why you wouldn't even try to discuss things so yes maybe I could word this more nicely but sometimes it's better not to mince words and tell someone directly that they've goofed big, particularly in a more private setting. 2A03:F80:32:194:71:227:81:1 (talk) 23:28, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
- It looks like your away, which is fine I guess I'm going away for a long while, and even if we cross paths again chance are we won't recognize each other, I won't be at this IP address, and named accounts come and go so often I've long since lost my ability to keep track of them. So I owe you an apology, you're still new, and yes I was a bit bitey not the best foot to get started off-on to be sure. I guess the key point is that accuracy is more important than speed when doing WP:RCP and in the absence of evidence to the contrary, you should assume everyone is here to contribute constructively regardless of whether or not someone they have chosen to put a name in front of their IP address. Even so, you are going to make mistakes. I’ve made bad reverts before, and will do so again in the future, the sheer volume involved in RCP will ensure your never completely mistake free. The key is to make as few as practical, resist the overwhelming urge to revert as quickly as possible, and to be prepared to admit you've made mistakes when somebody points it out, strike through incorrect warnings and self-revert with grace.
- None of this was a big deal, I long ago lost track of the number of times I’ve been spuriously reported to AIV. And it was never my intent to make you feel bad about yourself. We’re all here trying to build an encyclopedia, even if sometimes we pull in different directions, and I sincerely wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Cheers, 2A03:F80:32:194:71:227:81:1 (talk) 23:24, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
