Welcome, and advice

[edit]

Thanks very much for your work on Real time locating standards and Real time locating; it's not my field, but I agree that it's important for Wikipedia to be up-to-date on these standards. However, it's likely that Real time locating standards is going to be nominated for deletion at some point unless you give more sources...and adding more words to the article only means that more needs to be sourced, so I suggest you stop working on the article and start working on the sources. The ISO's website is certainly a source...but give the url of the pages that contain information that supports what you say in the article, not the home page. And one source is not nearly good enough, given the amount of information you give in the article. So ... keep up the good work, but list your reliable sources before you write the article, not after, or you will start attracting attention that you don't want to attract. (I'm speaking from experience.) I'll be happy to help, just ask. - Dan Dank55 (talk) 21:58, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the recent edit you made to Real time locating has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. Locating engine

[edit]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Locating engine, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Locating engine

[edit]

An editor has nominated Locating engine, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Locating engine and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:00, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

April 2008

[edit]

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, which wasn't included with your recent edit to Wi-Fi. Thank you. Hello - The changes you made to this article are welcome. They were, though, very intensive, and require an edit summary to inform other editors of your changes. This is a key principle in building this encyclopedia. The scope of the contributors is global; using the edit summary is done out of respect for fellow editors. Cheers. E_dog95' Hi ' 19:14, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Real-time location articles

Hi Niemeyerstein en, After I added some suggestions to these articles, I am now confused. It appears that after that, you have edited unrelated articles I have worked on. Would you like to talk to me so that I can understand? Thank you, Widefox (talk) 10:17, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have reviewed all of your edits to these articles...

I have reverted your edit [1] as I these are covered in the article referenced. If you do not agree, please let me know. Widefox (talk) 11:36, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

summary

[edit]

Although you are free and entitled to edit any articles in WP, I cannot explain why you have chosen to edit these particular articles right after I have commented on the (Real-time location) articles. Please could you explain this, as it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. Widefox (talk) 11:36, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have no ownership

[edit]

Hi there. In your user page you say

"Please stand off altering the flavours of the presentation from critical appraisal to e.g. covering the truth, which is not desired."

Please read and absorb: WP:NOT, WP:OWN. Thanks. 93.144.72.129 (talk) 10:25, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of RTLS implementing

[edit]

I have nominated RTLS implementing, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/RTLS implementing. AfD nomination of RTLS communications

[edit]

I have nominated RTLS communications, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/RTLS communications. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. The article Location (topology) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced and vague article whose contents are already covered properly at Topology and Graph theory. There is no suitable content to merge, and the article name is an implausible search term.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Reyk YO! 23:25, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Unilateration for deletion

[edit]

The article Unilateration is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Unilateration until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Protonk (talk) 00:46, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Locating has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unreferenced dictionary definition, not notable by WP:NOTDICT

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
