Request reason:

Caught by a colocation web host block but this IP is not a web host. My IP address is 58.186.118.147. I've never even heard of this "Cocolation Web Host" thing, I just use my Dell XPS Laptop, I sometimes use a VPN but never for Wikipedia!

Decline reason:

That IP address is a confirmed proxy: LUMINATI_PROXY (RESIDENTIAL). Yamla (talk) 15:09, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not even sure if I have a proxy or not, but when i went on ,,http://www.whatismyproxy.com/, it said that I didn't have a proxy, if I do, it was probably already there in the router in which I am not aware of.

Decline reason:

That IP belongs to a webhost, used by an entity called "The Corporation for Financing & Promoting Technology". I'm wondering if you perhaps had your VPN on accidentally when you accessed Wikipedia; try making sure it is off and clearing your browser cache. 331dot (talk) 13:15, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The corporation you said (admins check edit source if you haven't) is also an internet service provider so maybe there was a proxy provided by my ISP, if so then I don't know how to configure that exactly.

I have cleared my browser cache as you've said, can you check again if the proxy is still there? + I have checked my settings and the proxy isn't turned on.

Notes:

  • In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
  • Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:

{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2=Caught by a colocation web host block but this IP is not a web host. My IP address is 58.186.118.147. I've never even heard of this "Cocolation Web Host" thing, I just use my Dell XPS Laptop, I sometimes use a VPN but never for Wikipedia! ---- I'm not even sure if I have a proxy or not, but when i went on ,,http://www.whatismyproxy.com/, it said that I didn't have a proxy, if I do, it was probably already there in the router in which I am not aware of. ---- The corporation you said (admins check edit source if you haven't) is also an internet service provider so maybe there was a proxy provided by my ISP, if so then I don't know how to configure that exactly. If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}} with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.

{{unblock reviewed |1=Caught by a colocation web host block but this IP is not a web host. If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting Accept reason here with your rationale:

{{unblock reviewed |1=Caught by a colocation web host block but this IP is not a web host. My IP address is 58.186.118.147. Instead of just overwriting your request, please make new statements below the older ones. I didn't even see Yamla's. 331dot (talk) 14:45, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Have you attempted to make an edit? 331dot (talk) 14:46, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's just that I rarely edit on Wikipedia so I'm not very well immersed with how to use it. Nicolaus Lukasiewicz (talk) 15:13, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I only ask because if you can edit a page other than this one, you are no longer affected by a block. Try editing the WP:SANDBOX. 331dot (talk) 15:35, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I just came back, sorry for the wait but I am able to edit now, thank you! Nicolaus Lukasiewicz (talk) 05:24, 13 October 2024 (UTC

So can I remove my unblock requests now? Nicolaus Lukasiewicz (talk) 05:25, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
