Commercial use of Image:Airplane-seat.jpg

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Airplane-seat.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Airplane-seat.jpg has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license GFDL-self to license it under the GFDL, or to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use PD-self to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Airplane-seat.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 09:58, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Nomination: Thai Airways flight 358

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Thai Airways flight 358 meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Thai Airways flight 358. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Sacxpert 04:39, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Thai Airways Flight 358

[edit]

Thai Airways Flight 358, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Thai Airways Flight 358 satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Thai Airways Flight 358 and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Thai Airways Flight 358 during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Dali-Llama 03:38, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Image:Main logo new.jpg, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material without the permission of the author. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from Associated Press (It's labelled 'AP' on the right edge.). As a copyright violation, Image:Main logo new.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Image:Main logo new.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. For text material, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source, provided that it is credible.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

 • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Image:Main logo new.jpg and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
 • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Image:Main logo new.jpg with a link to where we can find that note.
 • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Image:Main logo new.jpg.

However, for text content, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia.

This is currently used in the Ho Chi Minh City ITC Inferno article. Please fix as you see fit. 199.71.174.100 00:25, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you wish to include your material on the project, you need to meet a couple of requirements first. And I am only addressing the copyright issue, not the fact that the material still reads like an advertisement, making it also a possible violation of WP:SPAM.

For the copyright issue, if you do indeed own the copyright for the text, you must release the text under a GFDL compatible license in order for it to be placed on the site. GFDL means, among other things, that anyone may use and modify the text in the future, as long as they meet the terms of the license, which generally amount to crediting the source. Anyone, any purpose, even commercial purposes. You need to be 100% certain you know what you are doing with your text if you want to place it up on the project under such a license. If you still want to do so, you then need to take steps to establish that you are indeed the proper copyright holder of the material. I will include below a blurb from one of the regular templates that describes how to go about establishing that you are the proper copyright holder of the text. Since anyone can claim to be anyone on the internet, such proof is required before we allow text from elsewhere on the net onto the project. Again, keep in mind that following these steps will satisfy only the copyright issues, your text had major problems with reading like an advertisement as well, and those will have to be dealt with if you want an article on your project to survive. - TexasAndroid 19:44, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Explain this on this article's discussion page, then either display a notice to this effect at the site of original publication or send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en at wikimedia dot org or a postal letter to the Wikimedia Foundation. These messages must explicitly permit use under the GFDL.
Note: Articles on Wikipedia must be written from a neutral point of view and must be verifiable in published third-party sources; copyright issues aside, your text may not be appropriate for inclusion in Wikipedia.

Image tagging for Image:Sasukeredeo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sasukeredeo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:07, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I removed your listing from WP:RFA as you did not format it properly. I would suggest you do not re-add it as you have only 50 edits meaning that it is unlikely to pass. The community generally likes to see a couple of thousand edits and 3-4 months of experience before they even consider a candidate to have suitable experience so they can be trusted. I hope this does no discourage you and I urge you to carry on editing, regards, Ryan Postlethwaite 17:25, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, while I join with Ryan in wishing you the best of luck for the future, you need to learn exactly what the actual duties, abilities and responsibilities of an admin are. If you stay with us, you will get there. But not yet. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 17:36, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Sasukeredeo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sasukeredeo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:23, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Kuzln Egiimaa

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Kuzln Egiimaa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your comment on Talk: Main Page

[edit]

Hello. While creating new articles is commendable, you don't need to announce that you did so on Talk: Main Page. As was explained to you (as I recall) when you posted there about Czech Airlines‎, that page is just meant for discussion of the Main Page, not everything on Wikipedia. Feel free to ask on my talk page if you have any questions. Thanks for the efforts on the article!--Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 20:55, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kachnipolevka.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Alohajio.JPG. The copy called Image:Alohajio.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Palladium Shopping Center DYK nomination

[edit]

Hello, this [3] is a wrong nomination of the article. It must be in the form "Did you know ... that some information" Nominee entry looks like this for example:

Information must be directly written in the article itself. In case of questions feel free to ask on my talk page. ≈Tulkolahten≈≈talk≈ 12:46, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Prague City 2004 Bombing

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Prague City 2004 Bombing requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
