I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome! Hello Nicodetr! Thanks for improvements to and comment at ARNTL. There are very few editors on English WP who know or care anything about circadian rhythms, and even fewer who have formal (medical or scientific) training in the field. It appears to me that you are a much-needed editor here; Welcome!

I have no such training, but a strong interest. (I also have a Circadian Rhythm Disorder, CRD.) When I started editing here and added to an article that there are three, not two, types of photosensitive cells in our retina, I was "told off" by an active medical editor: WP is not the place to promote original research and pet projects. So I learned to add good references and have had no such problems since, but I've seen that there is little knowledge here, probably because the field is new and rapidly developing.

Despite my lack of pertinent education, I've recently added myself to this list: Wikipedia:WikiProject Medicine/Participants, where there was no one listing sleep or circadian among their areas of interest, and just one mentioning chronobiology. There are no particular requirements, except for interest. The point of this long comment is to suggest that you, too, might want to list your name there. Again, welcome! --Hordaland (talk) 11:02, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Hordaland! Thanks for your kind message and for the suggestion. I will check this. Yes I could add my name there, although I am not sure that I have much time to give to this. And my expertise may actually better fit the more biological or basic science WikiProjects. Regards, --Nicodetr (talk) 00:53, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're invited!

[edit]

Hello, Nicodetr,

You are invited meet with your fellow Wikipedians by attending the Montréal meetup scheduled on Sunday, June 27, 2010; between 1500 - 1700 to be held at the Comité Social Centre Sud (CSCS), located at 1710 Beaudry, in Montréal. You can sign up at the meetup page.

The meetup is happening in concurrence with RoCoCo 2010, a free, bilingual, weekend unconference including many people involved with Wikis both within the Wikipedia/Wikimedia Community and abroad. You do not need to attend the conference to sign up for the Wikimeetup, but you are certainly welcome! Bastique ☎ call me!

(PS: Please share this with those you know who might not be on the delivery list, i.e. Users in Montreal/Quebec)
