Reverting Edits
[edit]Hi there. I'm relatively new to reverting edits, but I notice that my calls are similar to yours. If you see anything that I could improve on, please let me know! Many thanks. :) Nauseous Man (talk) 05:23, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Nauseous Man: I’ll reply properly on your talk page, so in the unlikely event I say anything useful it’ll be easily accessible for you. Nick Levine (talk) 07:02, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
Notice of noticeboard discussion
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is Disable MDanielsBot. Thank you. — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 18:02, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Alexis Jazz: I tried to contribute to the discussion and got my head bitten off. Twice. Is that to be expected? Nick Levine (talk) 07:46, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
- I'm guessing Jayron was having a bit of a bad day, probably unrelated to you. Or maybe this is just who they are and they always respond like this, I don't really know Jayron. I don't think they really tried to bite your head off, and I'm saying that as someone whose head has been bitten off repeatedly by various admins. (as a minor example, ever been blocked without being told why?) — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 13:37, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
Syd Heylen article
[edit]I see that it recent edit has been Reverted by bot, I was not sure because many articles link to Discogs, what about All Music I that more reliable?
- @1.42.69.178: My revert was because you really need a (reliable) external reference before calling someone a showbiz legend and television icon personality. The bot revert was, as the message on your talk page says, because there was a citation but the source is considered unreliable. I guess I encourage you to follow the links in these two warnings and read the advice. All the best. Nick Levine (talk) 18:04, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
Regarding reverted edits
[edit]Hey! Sorry for not leaving an explanation for my reversion edit to WikiIslam. I actually made that edit for the reasons listed on the talk page of that page. If I want to redo that reversion, should I simply cite the talk page? thanks. RubiconForder (talk) 22:27, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
- @RubiconForder: If there is consensus on the talk page then —- bearing in mind the 3 revert rule —- yes. (I can’t read the discussion on this mobile phone, it degenerates into a column of single letters.) If there is no consensus then editors need to stop fighting inside the article and work together on building one. While this is going on reviewers might push for their interpretation of neutrality in the text. Nick Levine (talk) 07:23, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
I just edited that, because it was not sourced
[edit]Hi, Nick Levine, I noticed you reverted my edit in a article. Carboniferous. I edited it because it not sourced and because the word “I” does not fit in the sentence. Also, humans did not exist in the Carboniferous Period. I just wanna thank for revising my edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:8000:f400:fcea:e0a6:5a50:b03c:71aa (talk) 2022-01-02T00:29:09 (UTC)

Airport Edits pages
[edit]Hi, just to let you know I reverted edits on the Glasgow Airport page back to your most recent changes following more disruptive editing, figured I would keep you in the loop.GeorgeN123 (talk) 19:29, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
- @GeorgeN123: thanks. I’m wondering if we should request a protection on that page (pending changes)? Nick Levine (talk) 20:08, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
- @GeorgeN123: but I looked at the change you reverted, and I can’t see what changed, except it was on the text “London-Glasgow”. Can you enlighten me? Nick Levine (talk) 20:20, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Nick Levine: I couldn't find exactly what the cause of the error was, however, in-between your edit and the last edit to the page a change had been made that meant the information was no longer in a table format, but rather in a big long list with no format or spacing. Your edit was the last one I could find that kept the information in a table.GeorgeN123 (talk) 14:09, 21 February 2022 (UTC)

Hello dear editor, you have reposted a lie on the site. I do not know why you re-edited the lie according to the documents and sources. Hazrat Mahdi is alive and does live with you and me now. If in doubt, go to the mosque around you and find a fellow Shiite to explain it to you in full. According to thousands of sources, Hajj Ibn Al-Hassan, the twelfth Imam of the Shiites, is alive. Please do not act contrary to Wikipedia's freedom of expression and posting policies. Please revert this change and if you do not know anything, do not publish anything wrong. Sorry🌷 Good luck.

vandalism (removing proposed deletion with comment "I don't believe you")
[edit]You removed a WP:N proposed deletion on the article for Emily_Gorcenski. Please join the discussion in the Talk page for the article. Simply saying "I don't believe you" isn't how this works. 69.127.80.46 (talk) 04:59, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- Apologies. I had glanced at the end of the talk page and found nothing current, so assumed there were no active conversations. Indeed, the discussion you pointed me to was dormant for over a year. But: apologies. Nick Levine (talk) 07:34, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
Bankim Chatterjee
[edit]What was wrong with this edit which you partially reverted? The person's DOB is well disputed. It can be 26 or 27 also according to scholarly sources.[2][3] You should self-revert. Dear Debasish (talk) 18:00, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

1852 UK Election
[edit]Come on, if I'm "vandalising", please tell me what party red represents? The page needs to be fixed. Do you have a better idea for how to (a) remove the statement of untruth (that the colors are described in the results section) and (b) encourage people to fix the page? 149.224.83.200 (talk) 08:36, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- @149.224.83.200: If an article needs fixing either fix it yourself, or add a tag that says it needs fixing, or describe the problem on the article’s talk page. Please don’t introduce “chat” in article space; and please don’t suggest that your edits cannot be reverted because to do so would be a lie. Thanks. Nick Levine (talk) 09:45, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
Janet Healy
[edit]Hello Nick,
We read your comments concerning Janet Healy with interest. In fact the information was submitted from Janet Healy herself, directly from her current biography. In it she also references her filmography that shows on the current wiki page. Additionally, her IMDB credits are also referenced on this wiki page.
How would you suggest that she update her professional information? She is currently listed as the number 14 top film Producer internationally according to "The Numbers" and it would be nice to have it be a proper reflection of her long and successful career. Thanks so much for any help you can offer in this regard. Her email is: janethealy22@yahoo.com Also another question - would you accept a verbatim bio taken from Imdb? We are in the rocess of updating that as well. thanks so much— Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.90.156.111 (talk) 20:40, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- My comment was the word “unsourced”. Information about a living person which is not backed up by inline references to notable sources is regarded as unsourced and liable for instant deletion. Also please note that text lifted verbatim from anywhere is itself also liable for instant deletion. I’ll pop some links on your home page. Thanks Nick Levine (talk) 22:59, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

- Well, I see your comment on the talk page and a reply. Either do what it suggests or give a reason (there!) for doing otherwise. Nick Levine (talk) 12:32, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

Vandalism
[edit]Suggest you stop imposing your obviously narrow minded views when policing pages. Perhaps you should police topics you are sufficiently knowledgeable about. This user has consistently demonstrated a pattern of failing to exercise sufficient care when reviewing pages, resulting in users being offended or discouraged (especially new users). I suggest his rights be examined immediately 41.190.12.120 (talk) 15:44, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
Shakey Jake
[edit]Recently you removed changes I made to Shakey Jake's page on Wikipedia because I didn't cite "references". I am a reference. I saw him doing the things I mentioned (talking to people about their troubles over coffee and breakfast at local diners and renting out parking places in the front yard of his home on football Saturdays). I witnessed these things for many years, and had coffee with him many times myself between 1987 and 1997, when I lived in Ann Arbor. This person was what is sometimes called a "street character". Almost everything about him will be anecdotal. However, i saw things on the page about him that were kind of insulting ...and inaccurate. I was invited into the house where I saw him renting out the front yard for football game go-ers to park their cars once. I was a kid, then, and he often sat down and talked to kids about life. That's how I know he was not "homeless". he told me he owned that house. I have been looking around all night, and all I can find is a DJ from the Ann Arbor college radio station who went by the moniker "Ed Special" writing a "facts versus Myths" section about Shakey Jake just after he passed away claiming he "never owned a house". But I was there! Maybe he rented? One thing was ABSOLUTELY sure though - he was NOT, as the last editor of this page wrote, homeless. He *listened* to lots of people who struggled with that, gave them advice, but he himself had a place, which I saw with my own eyes. As to the rest, I watched him listen to folks compassionately, in his eccentric but real way, for a decade of my life. Ann Arbor has gentrified to the gills. The greater community of people who might have made for a better "source" have since scattered to the four winds. But I knew this person for a long time, so I consider myself to be a source, actually. I also took away the description of him as "unthreatening" because it was kind of insulting. He was a flamboyant, weirdly music-like street character whose presence defined the public space of the city where he lived for decades - not "unthreatening". How can we fix up his page with what I've seen with my own eyes? Do I have to get Simon and Shuster, or Harper Collins, or Penguin Books, to publish me telling the true stories I've seen? Or is this enough .... ? Should I put these statements as footnotes to make them a "source"? Thank you!
(unsigned comment from 85.228.11.95)
- @85.228.11.95: whatever you have personally experienced, that doesn’t count as a “reference”. Please see WP:VERIFY. If you think something is missing from the article and you cannot find a reference for it, perhaps describe the problem on the article’s talk page? Cheers, Nick Levine (talk) 09:58, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
