Agriculture and Farming Are they Synonymous? (Be civil please)
[edit]Rutebega - First do not post the info page here, It's incredible demeaning. Second, calling a post pedantic (Specific) is not productive, and makes no sense, as specificity is the name of the game, not common miss understanding.
Magioladitis - "It's a good general description (and only *ambiguously* disagrees with what you dislike" <--- this is a symptom of a largely misunderstood part of agricultural science. This is not about my opinion this is about facts.
(About the edits to Agricultre and Farming) The edits I made does not make a statement they remove portions of articles that ire blatantly false. Farming and agriculture are not synonymous. There is a requirement of citation for claims, I removed unfounded un-cited claim from wikipedia, if you wish to revert the changes cite it with fact, Thankyou. Please consider this carefully before offhandedly clicking the revert button again.
Agriculture Definition: The act of cultivating crops and live stock for human purposes in general.
Farming Definition: the act of growing crops and livestock separately from a community, by specialists, on a farm for export to the aforementioned community.
Example of Agriculture that is not farming: The people of the amazon rotationally cultivated as a whole society within there immediate living area, all crops and livestock they need. It was not exported, if it was exported it would have been farming. This is an important difference, though it may not seem important outside of agricultural or food systems science. This misunderstanding is wide spread but it is a misunderstanding.
Agriculture
