Week 4
The issues section on Central Park does not really go into much detail about the crimes that have happened there. It also does not really include a lot of cases that have happened there. Another issue it did not include is that it was a meeting spot for gay men and how many men who were believed to be gay were arrested there.
Week 3
The site I choose is Central park. I plan to contribute to the wikipedia page by talking about the central park jogger case and the racial tensions it created. I also plan to discuss how the racial tensions from this case affected the mayoral elections. I also plan to research about the park after World War II and how it became a gathering for gay men. I plan to discuss how people saw gay New Yorkers as a threat and how the police would wait in the park at night to arrest people who they believed to be gay.
