User talk:Ngomes99/St. Cecilia (Stefano Maderno)

[edit]The article definitely has a strong opening and appears to have a good idea of where it is heading. The information on Cecilia is interesting, but I wonder if there is a wikipedia article on St. Cecilia already? My only suggestions are to increase the information on why it was made and to find more information on the artist himself. Was there a patron for the statue? A reason for its creation? These answers could help pad the article as well as give readers information on the statue itself. Information on the St. Cecilia Basilica would absolutely help, especially since no page exists yet for this information.
The tone you use does fit with what we were expected to use for this wikipedia assignment. It's neutral and approachable. I do think more sources are needed however this is absolutely something that will be improved on the more we go into this project. Other than that you seem to be on a good track! Great job! Notes/Suggestions
[edit]“He is known as one of the outstanding sculptors from 17th-century Rome” this sentence indicates bias with the use of “outstanding,” do you have a source that you can use to say “(author name) states that Maderno is known as one of the outstanding sculptors from 17th-century Rome” Same thing for “it is said that the inspiration…” maybe change it to “(author name) said that the inspiration…” Daylightandmidnightrain (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 16:07, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
