Talifan article

[edit]

Hi, you might want to consider expanding the Talifan article. Several people (me included) think that, as written it is a candidate for articles for deletion. I see that you've asked for mediation about the external links so that's one reason I'm not nominating it. The other is to give you a chance to expand it. The term Talifan is marginal on the Google test with only slightly over 200 hits ... Let me know if there's anything I can do to help - just leave a note on my talk page Brian 10:29, 1 July 2006 (UTC)btball[reply]

Talifan article

[edit]

Hi, It looks like you're doing a good job with the rewrite and the mediation. You left a note on my talk page - I take it was a question? I'm pretty new here myself :-) so, just my opinion. If people keep reversing each others edits despite the mediation then protecting the page may be warranted. But it seems that the general consensus is that's a last resort. From the dialog on the talk page of the Talifan article, it seems like the current version may be acceptable to all. I'd just ask each of them on their talk page if they agree and are willing to let it stand. Mediation and arbitration have to be one of the more difficult jobs around here - I admire your willingness to do it. As for my concerns I think it's established that it passes the verifiability test and although, IMHO, marginal on the notability test, I'd let it stand. If someone feels strongly about that after the mediation is done (I don't), they can alwasy PROD or AfD. I hope I answered your question. I'll be travelling today and offline for a day or so. How to debate the deletion of Talifan

[edit]

I noticed you created Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Talifan. It looks like the Talifan article was speedily deleted by an administrator. The place to go to dispute whether it should be recreated is Deletion Review where there is guidance on the procedure. I'm sorry if Wikipedia procedures are quite complex in this area, especially for new editors, but you'll find more people ready to engage with the argument at that page.
