Notability of Father James Devlin
[edit]A tag has been placed on Father James Devlin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. WWGB (talk) 23:48, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Father Donald Calloway
[edit]A tag has been placed on Father Donald Calloway requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Rob Banzai (talk) 22:36, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Dominic Schaner
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Dominic Schaner, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Fails WP:MUSIC; no evidence of significant coverage in reliable sources.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to University of Cambridge#Notable alumni. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Your attitude in repeatedly adding Andrew Gower here appears childish, and this was confirmed by the comment which you added in your recent edit. If you have reasonable grounds for believing that this individual deserves inclusion in that list, take it to the article's discussion page and try to obtain concensus. He is listed at List of University of Cambridge members, but I (and the other editors who have reverted your previous edits) see no grounds for including him at University of Cambridge#Notable alumni. It would be reasonable to include him in the appropriate category for alumni of his college if you wish to do that. Assumption of WP:GOODFAITH was not helped by your first edit summary saying "(Notable alumni: changed the listing so it looks more organized)" which made it appear that you were trying to hide your addition; your subsequent edits included no summary to explain or justify what you were doing.
