Welcome!

Hello, Neohertz, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome! -Atmoz (talk) 16:14, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Neohertz. I have reverted your edits on the Pelé page because that claim in the article is backed by the sources duly referenced therein. So, according to Wikipedia standards, the statement should stay, regardless of what you and me think of it. Regards, MUSIKVEREIN (talk) 11:59, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Again at this, Neohertz ? Please see my comment above. By the way, your edit, if sustained, demands that you write "players" (plural) on the relevant line. MUSIKVEREIN (talk) 16:26, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Talk pages

[edit]

Please never remove someones comments from talk pages, unless (i) it is your talk page; (ii) the comment is blatant, egregious vandalism or defamation. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 23:30, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test on the page Talk:Muhammad Ali worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox instead. Thank you. -Atmoz (talk) 16:14, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism, user pages, personal attacks, etc.

[edit]

Hi. Please read WP:VANDAL. Just because someone disagrees with you does not make their edits vandalism. Vandalism only refers to people intentionally and obviously trying to make the encyclopedia worse.

In addition, please read WP:NPA. Calling me (or anyone else) a moron, as you did in this edit is a direct violation of our policies on personal attacks. In order to edit Wikipedia, you are going to have to learn how to edit politely and collaboratively with others. If you do not wish to do so, you may want to edit other sites than this one. If you persist in personally attacking other users, you can be blocked.

Also, when you want to communicate with another user, please post on the user's talk page. For example, my talk page is User Talk:Qwyrxian. You posted on my user page, which is User:Qwyrxian. User pages are places to keep info about yourself that you want to share with the rest of Wikipedia, while talk pages are the place to discuss issues or concerns; this, for instance, is your talk page.

Finally, I am not an administrator. Thus, I did not use any administrative privileges on the Muhammad Ali or any other articles--I merely reverted some information you added, the same as any other editor can do. Furthermore, my removal didn't violate any rules--note that this is true even if I'm wrong about boxrec. Any editor may make non-vandalizing changes to an article. If other editors disagree, then they will revert the change or edit more.

As for boxrec, I have left a message on Talk:Muhammad Ali which explains why that does not meet Wikipedia's guidelines as a reliable source. Note that I'm not saying that it's not a good site, nor that it's not useful, or even correct. It's just that since it's an open wiki (like Wikipedia), it cannot be used as a reference here.

If you have questions about the Ali article, you can ask on that talk page or on my talk page. If you believe that I have vandalized the article, the place to report it is WP:AIV. If you believe I'm not being polite, the place to report me is WP:WQA. If you believe my behavior is so problematic that it warrants immediate attention from administrators, the place is WP:ANI. Please be aware that if you choose to do so, your behavior will be scrutinized as well; personally I recommend you don't, since I'm fairly certain that my behavior was and is perfectly acceptable per WP policies and guidelines, and that yours definitely violates at least one rule (personal attacks). But, of course, the option is yours. Qwyrxian (talk) 06:09, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not include unsupported or inaccurate statements. Whenever you add possibly controversial statements about a living person to an article or any other Wikipedia page, as you did to Talk:Manny Pacquiao, you must include proper sources. If you don't know how to cite a source, you may want to read Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners for guidelines. Thank you. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 05:15, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The recent edit you made to User talk:Tbhotch constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. -- φ OnePt618Talk φ 05:18, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to User talk:OnePt618. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. -- φ OnePt618Talk φ 05:20, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning; the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Talk:Nigger ‎, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Acroterion (talk) 21:32, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
