Recent edit to Pet Shop Boys

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Pet Shop Boys, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Neutrality

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Snooker seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.

I understand what you were trying to do, but this is completely the wrong sort of site for writing like that. Please see WP:Wikipedia is not news (including sports journalism); WP:Manual of Style/Words to watch § Puffery; and WP:How to write better articles. A neutral and encyclopedic tone and approach are crucial here, and we do not use rave reviews of sportspersons' performance records.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  23:10, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mizerak and Massey

[edit]

Good intel! I tweaked those additions to match Wikipedia's style guide and neutrality policy (e.g., we don't capitalise names of games like snooker or nine-ball, and we don't use emotive language), and to put the details in an order that's a bit easier to follow, in the Mizerak and Davis material.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  20:55, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

[edit]

Hello, NellyEdwards. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
