Deletion process
[edit]Hey -- since you're a relative newcomer to the deletion process (and I saw a speedy deletion tag on Pc Customization:Trend or Fad that wasn't appropriate), I thought I'd take a minute to share Wikipedia:Introduction to Deletion Process with you. It describes the differences between speedy deletion, proposed deltion, and the full deletion process. Check it out! Mangojuicetalk 13:42, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hmmm -- ok. Maybe not a speedy deletion, but then that makes me wonder what makes it appropriate or inappropriate? It was apparent that this article is the beginning of a blog or personal essay. It doesn't cover any Wikipedia type content. It's not the sort of essay which could be easily renamed, moved to another section, edited to be made better, because it'd still be a blog. So ultimately it's probably going to go. Don't get the wrong idea though - I'm not trying to make a case for its deletion, but trying to understand the process (and particularly the thought process) better.--Neilajh 15:07, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, generally better to leave replies on the other person's talk page. I might have checked back here, but no guarantee. Anyway, there are very specific criteria for speedy deletion. They're meant to cover cases so uncontroversial that virtually no one in the whole WP community would argue they should be kept. There are plenty of good reasons for deletion, and the ones you mention are perfectly good, but they are ambiguous enough that we need consensus in some form to delete under those criteria, which is why speedy deletion isn't the best tool for it.
