The article Ned McGowan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not notable
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dajasj (talk) 09:29, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
Copyright problem: Ned McGowan
[edit]Hello Nedmcgowan! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Ned McGowan, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted material from other websites or printed works. This article appears to contain work copied from http://www.nedmcgowan.com/about/full-biography/, and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate your contributions, copying content from other websites is unlawful and against Wikipedia's copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are likely to lose their editing privileges.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:
- Have the author release the text under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License (CC BY-SA 3.0) by leaving a message explaining the details at Talk:Ned McGowan and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-enwikimedia.org". Make sure they quote the exact page name, Ned McGowan, in their email. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If you hold the copyright to the work: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License and GNU Free Documentation License, and note that you have done so on Talk:Ned McGowan. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted "under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC BY-SA), version 3.0", or that the work is released into the public domain, or if you have strong reason to believe it is, leave a note at Talk:Ned McGowan with a link to where we can find that note or your explanation of why you believe the content is free for reuse.
It may also be necessary for the text to be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
See Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries for a template of the permissions letter the copyright holder is expected to send.
Otherwise, you may rewrite this article from scratch. If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. April 2022
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. - Thanks for this feedback. Indeed.
- I will upload a more object version. Nedmcgowan (talk) 15:52, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
- Besides any issues with neutrality, please also note the message I left in the section above. If any of the text you wish to use in the article has been previously published elsewhere, then we need verified permissionfrom the copyright holder that it is being released under a suitable license to be included on Wikipedia. Please do not restore the same text to the article, until you have followed the steps outlined at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. VernoWhitney (talk) 17:17, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
