Image parameters FYI

[edit]

Hello and welcome. Galleries are a little odd in that the typical image syntax parameter of |thumb is invalid per Help:Gallery_tag#Loading_in_images. <gallery> has parameters to control image sizing as a whole group from the leader, but doesn't allow individual controls.

Conversely, |thumb is a common, and highly suggested parameter within WP:EIS images, so do use it for images with that syntax. Thanks. Zinnober9 (talk) 20:56, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies - I moved existing 2011 images directly into new galleries to tidy up the sections and I didn't look closely at the definitions. I'll bear this in mind. Ndnilp (talk) 01:03, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Demographics of Northern Ireland

[edit]

I've noted with growing concern some of your additions to Demographics of Northern Ireland, as you've not been citing sources and some of what you've added might constitute original research. Are statements such as "This drop may be due to graduates leaving for work elsewhere" based on sources that you've read, or are they your own interpretation of the statistics? The latter isn't allowed, per WP:NOR. Cordless Larry (talk) 15:26, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, you're right. I got carried away. Making some changes. Ndnilp (talk) 18:39, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. If they're sourced, you don't need to remove the tables/statistics like you did here. It's the commentary and interpretation of those figures that appeared to be original research. Cordless Larry (talk) 19:59, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think I might still have strayed too far with those graphs. It's difficult to describe them without providing a certain amount of interpretation. However, I can easily recreate that section. I'll do a bit more work on emigration outside of wikipedia and see if I can cite other sources. Ndnilp (talk) 20:50, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
