Commercial links and conflict of interest
[edit]Hi there. You have been adding an enormous number of commerical links to Naxos Records sites to articles [1] which is against the policy and guidelines at Wikipedia:External links. Your user name also suggests that you have a close connection with the company. If so, you should not be adding these links at all. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, Wikipedia:Spam and Wikipedia:Username policy for further guidance. Also, it is very unclear that you personally own the copyright to the sound files you have uploaded. They are a great resource, but you must follow the procedure at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials or they will be deleted, which would be a great pity. I've added a welcome template to the top of the page, which has further links for new users which you might find useful. There's also discussion about the issues with the links and files you've added at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Composers and your participation would be welcome there. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 06:40, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- Re the above:
- Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.
(You have continued to add these spam links after my note here.) Voceditenore (talk) 07:53, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
You are blocked from editing indefinitely, as you continued spamming links for the records website after being warned to stop. If you indicate that you understand that Wikipedia promotion / links / spamming policy doesn't allow that behavior and that you will behave going forwards, any administrator can unblock your account. This is the only warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. The next time you insert a spam link, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. --Dirk Beetstra T C 08:13, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
