Hi, Would it be too imposing if you could confirm if this account is owned by a single individual, not used by a group, and does comply with the policies of conflict of interest, and usernames? -MBK004 02:23, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi,
Thanks for the note. Please be assured that I'm the only user using this account in keeping with Wikipedia policy. I am the lead guy for educating people about the Navy's new maritime strategy that calls for greater cooperation among the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, as well as, enhanced global partnerships to prevent war. This is the first time in history that all three sea services have signed a common strategy and I'm updating relevant pages to reflect that for historical purposes.
I figured I should have a username that provided transparency to this educational effort but if you think I should do these updates anonymously instead, please let me know.
Have a great night.
Best,

- As long as you abide by all the policies, and I'll provide links to them, you'll be fine. The reason I asked is because your username seems on the borderline of the username policy. I assume you're an actual USN PAO. If this is the case, there are a few complications, especially regarding the conflict of interest policy linked above. Regardless, I'd recommend a renaming (because of the username concerns) and full disclosure on your userpage of your purpose here. -MBK004 02:42, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
Brainstorm
[edit]Howdy! I saw you username and message on MBK004s talk page, and was wondering if you could answer a question for me. I am trying to get the battleship USS Iowa (BB-61) up to featured status, but the DANFS entry for the battleship is extrodinarily small when compared to the other three completed battleships of the class. Being that I draw most of my information for the World War II and Korean War sections from the Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships I am interested in knowing if there is a way I can get the needed info from Korea and WWII in the absence of a reliable sources from the time, or is the USN planing on updating the entry for USS Iowa (BB-61) in the near future?
