Your recent article creation
[edit]A tag has been placed on Ali Rajavi, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ShakingSpirittalk 06:43, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
I'm deleting this article over your contesting (which you actually haven't placed anywhere that I can tell). There's nothing here that would constitute an assertion to notability. If you have a reason why this article should be restored (an assertion to this person's notability), please leave a message here and I will look into the matter further. Thank you.--Kchase T 07:16, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- See WP:CSD#A7 (just that one section, criterion seven for articles) and WP:BIO. On Wikipedia, there's a nebulous concept known as notability, and if an article doesn't clearly assert notability, it may be deleted through one of our deletion processes. If Ali Rajavi got newspaper coverage after his mysterious disappearance, that would probably assert notability enough to require a wider forum to discuss whether the article merits inclusion. If there has been any such coverage, just reply here and I will restore the article. Specifics would be helpful, but are not necessary.--Kchase T 07:25, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
He's not even listed on Amazon. Not quite an assertion yet. Anything else? You can reply here.--Kchase T 07:49, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Even if they were published, they'd need to be reviewed to qualify him for inclusion. See WP:BIO, where it says "Published authors, editors and photographers who received multiple independent reviews of or awards for their work". If he's gotten any reviews for his books, that would win you a wider forum to discuss the issue. Let me know.--Kchase T 08:03, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
I'm sorry for your unfortunate loss. Wikipedia can't serve as a place to memorialize lost family members, and we have decided, as a community, by the consensus of many editors, to exclude articles on people who haven't become notable enough to warrant inclusion, usually through third-party coverage in reliable sources.--Kchase T 08:16, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
