Disambiguation link notification for August 23
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited J. H. Cobbina, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Progress Party (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!
Greetings!
After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.
On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:
- Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
- Diversity winner
- Gender-gap fillers
For further information about the contest, the recognition categories and how to participate, please visit the contest page here. For further inquiries, please leave comments on the contest talkpage or on the main project talkpage. See you around :).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Provisional National Defence Council
You are one of the major contributors to Provisional National Defence Council.
Wikimedia received an email ticket:2019031010002894 with a request that Zaya Yeebo be added as the PNDC Secretary for Youth & Sports for 1982-1983.
That individual also added, "You can also check my book "The struggle for Popular Power in Ghana-Rawlings, Saviour or Demagogue". It was published by New beacon Books in London in 1991."
I'm not comfortable making the addition myself but offered to pass information on to you to see if you would be willing to look into it.--S Philbrick(Talk) 13:18, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks for the heads up. Was not able to access the email link above but found some other sources. He definitely held that role around that time. I have added the best reference I could find now. Will change it if I find a better one.--Natsubee (talk) 09:48, 21 May 2019 (UTC)

Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, please consult the documentation and please get in touch on SuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 12:14, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
Ghana Education Service
Someone deleted the Ghana Education Service page. I'm surprised because it's a major government agency. Histohob 13:44, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
- I am not sure what has been happening with the page but the logs show that it was deleted at 14:34 on 9 November 2019 because it had been created by a blocked or banned user. User:Berean Hunter deleted it so you can discuss with him on his talk page. I am not as active on Wikipedia as I used to be partly because of my work schedule and partly because of systemic bias. Secondly, I cannot locate your user page.--Natsubee (talk) 15:59, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
- Kandymotownie, as you may see above, the lack of a link in your signature presented a problem for Natsubee. Per WP:SIGLINK, "Signatures must include at least one direct internal link to your user page, user talk page, or contributions page; this allows other editors easy access to your talk page and contributions log. The lack of such a link is widely viewed as obstructive." Please change your signature to comply with this. Thank you.
- The Ghana Education Service page was deleted as a G5 speedy created by this sockpuppet. Any editor in good standing may create another version of that article again...just not sockpuppets.
- Natsubee, you may see who has been posting on your talk page with the history link at the top of this page and it should give you this.

Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Recent changes
- There is a new API module for changing the content model of existing pages. Use
action=changecontentmodel
to specify the new model. You can read the documentation on mediawiki.org. [1]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 17 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 18 March. It will be on all wikis from 19 March (calendar).
Future changes
- If you edit a page at the same time as someone else you can get an edit conflict. There is a new two-column interface to make it easier to solve this. It will soon be active by default on the German, Arabic, and Farsi Wikipedias. It will be on by default on more wikis within the next months. You will be able to opt out of the new interface. [2][3]
- You can see a proposed design for replying to comments in an easier way.

Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Problems
- Some development will be slower than planned. This is because of the current pandemic. You can see the new deployment guidelines. This is to avoid risks when some persons could be unavailable.
- There was a problem when adding interwiki links. The tool you use to add interwiki links could suggest the wrong project to link to. This has now been fixed. [4][5]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 24 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 25 March. It will be on all wikis from 26 March (calendar).
Future changes
- There is a project to make editing easier for newcomers. The developers are trying to understand what initiatives different Wikipedias have to welcome newcomers. They also want to know which templates are often used for maintenance activities. You can help this project by checking if your wiki's pages are listed on Wikidata.

About creating tables..
I have seen your recent posts and edits on the Districts of Ghana article page, and you're making tables to sort and group all districts per region; like this sample:
District | Category | Capital | Established | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|
Asunafo North | Municipal | Goaso | 1912[1] | |
Asunafo South | District | Kukuom | 2012[2] | |
Asutifi North | District | Kenyasi | ||
Asutifi South | District | Hwidiem | 2012[3] | |
Tano North | Municipal | Duayaw Nkwanta | 2004[4] | |
Tano South | Municipal | Bechem | 2004[5] |
So far I like the initiative. And hope it will be eventually completed somehow in the future. jlog3000 (talk) 03:31, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
