I don't think there's a need to resolve anything. While that specific source doesn't say avocado seeds are known as "pits" or "stones", there are plenty of other sources in the body of the article that do refer to the seeds as such, for example this or this. Since the lead is meant to summarize the body of the article, not every source used in the body needs to be repeated in the lead as long as the content is properly sourced in the body.
