User talk:Natashavelkovski
April 2020
[edit]Hello Natashavelkovski. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Wilson Security, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Natashavelkovski. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Natashavelkovski|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. John from Idegon (talk) 03:51, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
As previously advised, your edits, such as the edit you made to Wilson Security, give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Natashavelkovski, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Natashavelkovski|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. John from Idegon (talk) 04:08, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Wilson Security, you may be blocked from editing. John from Idegon (talk) 04:17, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
Hi John,

I havent done it properly, it should be
Natashavelkovski, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, discloses that they have been paid by Wilson Security for their contributions to Wikipedia. |
where can I edit that?
- {{u|Natashavelkovski}, this might be a little off as i tried posting something that i did a little more carefully but got an edit conflict because you posted while i was typing (it happens). A place to read is WP:COI. I'm too new to be helpful other than to let you know that editing pages where there is a relationship is shied from even if not being paid directly to edit wikipedia such as just being an employee. Another place you can go where you can ask questions is
Wikipedia:Teahouse. Thank you for disclosing because from what I've seen most people do not. After I post this I'll post a welcome message that will have some helpful info about wikipedia as well. Cheers. ToeFungii (talk) 04:45, 29 April 2020 (UTC)

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically produce your username and the date. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! ToeFungii (talk) 04:46, 29 April 2020 (UTC) So I can keep editing now?Natashavelkovski (talk) 04:49, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
NoNo First read the info at WP:COI. After that I would go to the teahouse and ask any questions that you may have. You could go to the teahouse now and ask something like "I work for a company, not being paid to edit wikipedia, but I'd like to edit my company's page, and you will get feedback. But for right now don't edit your company's page until you learn more. That's my suggestion, but I'm assuming you're over 18 and can do what you will although you've made too many edits on Wilson page such that you could be blocked for edit warring or what's called the 3 revert rule. I strongly suggest you do some reading and ask questions at the teahouse before doing any editing on that same page. Cheers and good luck. ToeFungii (talk) 04:55, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
