T-ara members' section

[edit]

Can you please stop changing the wikitable format? Every K-pop group such as f(x), BIGBANG, SNSD, 2NE1, etc etc, is using the same format, since they all have individual articles for each member. Chikazuku (talk) 17:53, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

oh, I didn't know that. As I'm only following T-ara, I didn't know other groups are using the same format , just thought someone is messing with it , changing it different from what it used to be.

But there is one big difference of T-ara with other groups, they have leader change and I think should be added to the format

just in case you don't know : Boram = Vocalist Qri = Vocalist Soyeon = Main Vocalist , Lead Dancer, Spokesperson Eunjung = Vocalist, Lead Rapper Hyomin = Lead Vocalist, Rapper Hwayoung = Main Rapper Jiyeon = Vocalist , Main Dancer, Maknae

Spokesperson & Maknae may not really be positions , but for some fans they are really important, sure will be added if not shown XD

If you click on "View history" at the top you can see what's being edited by whoever, and I think the leader rotation stuff should be added to the format instead of a different section as well. "Spokesperson" and "Maknae" shouldn't be added because they're not "real" set positions in the group. Also please remember to sign your posts with four tildes! Chikazuku (talk) 20:43, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, i just want to ask, where did you get all these positions, as a t-ara follower, i also, well, follow them a lot and i can't agree with you with the fact that you wrote that eunjung is a vocalist, as i see, she is actually a lead vocalist, she always sang high notes in almost every t-ara songs, she also got lines just as much as hyomin in every song except Cry Cry, i just want to ask where did you get all these positions, thanks, =)Kenny19327 (talk) 18:55, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Eunjung is not the Lead Vocalist after Hwayoung joined T-ara. From Roly Poly onwards, Hyomin already having more lines than Eunjung and is even more during Lovey Dovey. Eunjung lines are same as all other Vocalist in T-ara now.

T-ara's leader timeline section

[edit]

Please stop changing the table format. The leaders should be chronologically ordered and the month should come before the year as per WP:DATE. Chikazuku (talk) 21:34, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

no, you should stop. Since we all know there is no leader change from other groups, I following how it used to be, Newest on top to Oldest at bottom.

In WP:STANDALONE it states that all timelines must be ordered from earliest-to-latest chronological order. T-ara's leader section is a stabilized list and does not require frequent daily additions. Chikazuku (talk) 16:15, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It may not require frequent daily additions, but it IS a special case , so it should use reverse chronological order.

It is not a special case. The European Council also had a rotating presidency, yet it is still listed from earliest-to-latest chronological order. Reverted back. Chikazuku (talk) 22:49, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It IS a special case cause no OTHER groups have this system. I am determined to keep it how it use to be cause this is how it is from the very start.

And you are starting to make me think that the members formal of yours is wrong too , cause I saw Kara have the same formal as T-ara past one

Yes, T-ara is "special" because they switch leaders every so often, but not in this case. Articles that use reverse ordering are "special" because they need frequent additions and only use reverse ordering for temporary convenience. T-ara's leader section does not require it nor does not having it make it any less convenient. Just because the timeline was ordered that way when it was created does not necessarily make it right. Also, "members formal"? What are you talking about? If you are referring to the table format, I do not own it nor did I create it. KARA's members table did not need the unnecessary information because there are already individual articles for each member. Chikazuku (talk) 22:01, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The info in the biography section was actually copy and pasted directly from allkpop, as evidenced here. Copying from other websites is not allowed on Wikipedia per WP:COPYPASTE. If you could paraphrase the text and add sources, it would be acceptable. Thanks! --Chikazuku (talk) 01:19, 23 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is Public domain, even the articles from Allkpop were copied from other sources.

Request reason:

May I know why ? the article that was said to have copyright , IS a Public domain. Article with the EXACT SAME WORDS can be found in MANY K-pop news sites , example : http://www.dkpopnews.net/2011/04/news-t-ara-soyeon-after-withdrawing.html

Or did I misunderstood the meaning of Public domain?(expain to me how so I won't repeat again) If yes, I apologize and shall rewrite the text using different words of the same meaning. The block is no longer necessary because I understand what I are blocked for, I will not do it again, and I will make productive contributions.

=======================================================================================

And may I know who this Chikazuku is. He or She is giving me the feeling of what SOPA wanting to do with sites like Wiki.

He lied to me about wikitable format. He told me that ALL K-pop groups follow the same format and I believe him. But when I saw KARA using a different format and questioned him, he immediately change their site too(View history: 25 January 2012‎ ) and all he said was :

"What are you talking about? If you are referring to the table format, I do not own it nor did I create it. KARA's members table did not need the unnecessary information because there are already individual articles for each member. " .

Meaning there really isn't a format in the first place, right ?

I feel he is trying to control Wiki as he please, and thus, destroying the freedom of Wiki.

Decline reason:

At the bottom of the allkpop article: Copyright © 2007-2012 6Theory Media, LLC. All Rights Reserved. The fact that this text can be found on other sites does not mean that it's PD. Request reason:

Still not 100% clear about this Copyright stuff , but if it's not a direct copy from the source(ex.meaning I used different words with the same meaning), it will not violate the copyright rule, right? I apologize again, but I must state that my intentions was not to cause this incident. I just did not wish for information that was added(actually the copy info in Soyeon was not added by me in the first place(view history : 09:41, 21 February 2012‎ )), to be deleted. I merely wanted to preserve any information that will benefited future readers. To have cause all these trouble, I am truly sorry.

Accept reason:

I see you've accepted responsibility and admitted you understand where you've gone wrong. Magog the Ogre (talk) 01:05, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1) I'm not exactly sure what problems you are having with understanding copyright, so I can't advise you on them. If you have any questions, please take them to WP:MCQ or the talk page of an editor who is familiar with copyright issues (like me). In any case I will give you a brief explanation of the issues you've had, so this issue doesn't occur again:
  • Copyright automatically exists for any creative works, even if it doesn't carry a copyright notice. Essentially the only way we can reuse copyrighted content on Wikipedia is if the authors explicitly release the rights to their work under a license compatible with Wikipedia (generally, that will be GFDL, cc-by, or cc-by-sa). There are some other exceptions, like if a work is so old that it falls into the public domain, but 95% of the time you won't have to deal with these issues anyway.
  • You were also edit warring. For content disputes, please make use of the discussion page of an article if there is a dispute; don't just try to ram your version through. This behavior (while sadly common) is considered disruptive and often leads to a block in and of itself (see WP:EW if you want to read the policy).
  • Rewording is a tricky issue: the flow of the sentence structure and work is itself copyrightable, but only if it is unique enough that there's no way you possibly could have written the same thing on your own. So yes, please rewrite the content, but write it in your own words, generally trying to avoid making a slavish copy of the original work.
  • I understand that you wanted to keep the encyclopedic material: this is good. But sometimes other users commit copyright violations, and it's bad to reinsert the material after it's been removed.
Happy editing. Magog the Ogre (talk) 01:05, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Clearing things up

[edit]

Hello, Naruto82. I apologize for the recent disputes we've been having and I understand that the edits you made were in good faith. But personally attacking me by comparing me to SOPA, saying that I "lied" to you and and that I am "destroying" the freedom of Wikipedia is a little harsh and really unnecessary, don't you think? Many K-pop groups do follow the table format that you mentioned, but it is not a set format. All I was trying to do was to make the format consistent across all articles, so that the information is easily read. Also, for the record, I changed KARA's members table before you had questioned me, not immediately after. My edit was dated 16:31, 25 January 2012, exactly nine hours before you questioned me about it (01:20, 26 January 2012); which is not exactly immediate. I just hope that we can clear everything up and be able to help contribute to Wikipedia side-by-side. --Chikazuku (talk) 04:33, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • In our first Talk, you wrote that "EVERY" K-pop group is using the same format. But in this Talk, you admitted that it is not true ; "Many K-pop groups do follow the table format that you mentioned". So in a way, you did lied to me.
  • About KARA, I acknowledge I mistook you. It happened so close to the time I talk to you that it gave me the image of you changing it after I question you. For this, I apologize.
  • You may have not notice yourself, but you have the tendency of deleting or changing everything you don't see fit. Example :Soyeon . I admit it's my wrong that I didn't fully understand the issues of Copyright, but for you to delete away all information that was newly added by others(although from a Copyright source, they are true facts), is also wrong. In the progress, you cause lost of information.

I believe Wikipedia should be a place where people can come to get information of the things they want to know, any information(no matter how big or small) is precious. I,too, hope we clear things up and can help each other in the contributions to Wikipedia.

Yes, I apologize for misleading you for saying that "every" K-pop group is using the same format, but the majority do. I can list many groups that have adopted to the style (2PM, 2AM, After School, 4minute, SHINee, After School, MBLAQ, Miss A, Secret, Orange Caramel, Girls' Generation, Nine Muses, Teen Top, Infinite, EXO, Wonder Girls, U-KISS, 2NE1, etc. etc. the list goes on.) You made it seem like I was the "big bad guy out to destroy Wikipedia who should not be trusted" which, in fact, hurt me a little. Information is deleted off of Wikipedia all the time if they violate policies and guidelines; newly added or not. I chose to remove the information off of Soyeon's article because it violated many parts of Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, one being no sources: "Remove immediately any contentious material about a living person that is unsourced or poorly sourced" which is not wrong at all. Facts should have sources to verify them and not depend on truth, according to Wikipedia:Verifiability: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—whether readers can check that material in Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true." I tried to retain the information by adding Template:Copypaste so that others can come help fix it, but you chose to remove it. Policies are set for a reason and editors like myself try to maintain order by following them and removing things that violate them. --Chikazuku (talk) 19:04, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

If you are going to add such statements, you need a proper citation that is verifiable. You're going to have a hard time claiming a image found on the internet is a proper, reliable source. You should look for a source that can easily be easily translated, preferably from a notable newspaper or media outlet, and attribute the expert who is saying these things. A good read would be WP:CITE. Best of luck Evaders99 (talk) 04:46, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to T-ara. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 00:51, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at T-ara shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 00:53, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by inserting unpublished information or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at T-ara, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 15:58, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why am I the one getting the warning when it was others(editor: Toothswing, 13:58, 30 April 2012) that put the "POSITIONS" back? I left it the way it was(with no showing of positions) until someone else put it back. I only correct it to the way it had been for a long time after that.

Yes, in this last edit Toothswing added most of the positions. I warned him also. I warned you because you added "Lead Dancer" and "Spokesperson" without using citations. Hopefully these warnings can end once we start using reliable sources for any position we add. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 17:39, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you warn this person Water0000 too? I change it the way you guys want but this person keep changing it back.

Your edits to certain Korean pop-group articles are very similar to the ones by Rapperryan87 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). Like you he kept adding positions of Korean musicians without using reliable sources. This user and all his sockpuppets are blocked. Please see: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Ryanjay1996 and Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Ryanjay1996. I know that most probably you are not a sockpuppet. So please do not do edits like the ones the blocked sockpuppets attempted. Please stop adding positions of group members without using reliable sources and without discussing them first on the talkpage of the articles. Let's make Wikipedia a reliable encyclopaedia. Thank you. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 17:19, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am NOT a sock puppetry as I only have this account.

I believe you and I said that in my comments above. What I was trying to say is, since you are a good-faith user you should know better and not add material without using sources. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 17:48, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
