License tagging for Image:Riverfrontparkclocktower.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Riverfrontparkclocktower.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:07, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Stjohncathedral.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 23:26, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

St. John's Cathedral

[edit]

Hi! Thanks for uploading the pic of the Cathedral - one of my favorite buildings. Just letting you know I corrected the name a bit: it's known either as "St. John's" Cathedral (note the apostrophe and 's'), or the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.

Please update with more pics when you can! They're very nice. And don't forget to make sure you provide copyright info.

Photographs

[edit]

Hi, thanks for uploading pictures, but the ones from city-data.com do not appear to have a license or notice on their page allowing for use in Wikipedia. You are more than welcome to take pictures yourself and upload them, but random pictures found on the internet usually don't fall under fair-use guidelines. Please see this link for more information. Thanks! Alemily 19:51, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikification

[edit]

Hi and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edits on the Mayors of Spokane. Thank for your contributions. I would just ask to you to use wikipedia style in your articles next time. You can link to other articles by putting a word between two sets of brackets, likes this: [[link]], it will look like this in the article: link.

Also, you can mark the topic of the article bold like this: '''bold''' (bold). Finally, if your article on a person includes very little information (which is no problem at all), you might want to include the {{bio-stub}} tag.

Good luck editing! Cpt. Morgan (Reinoutr) 07:49, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article John Powers (mayor), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Narfy8021! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 270 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Jack Geraghty - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
