PHILIPA BAAFI Gospel Artist
Philipa Baafi completed senior high school in the year 1999, and right after high school, he came out with her maiden album, Nyame Homhom sane. She then also releases another album, Mogya N’akasa, and ensue it up with Okyeso Nyame, February 2004. Go High was her fourth album which the New Patriotic Party (NPP), even embraced Go High, the title for the campaign.
She discovered her potential at the tender age of nine years according to Philipa, she started singing at the Bantama Methodist church in Kumasi. At that time, she didn’t impound singing to her church alone. When she entered St. Monica’s Secondary School at Asante Mampong in 1996, she pursues singing and this time in a more polished and enrapture style.
She enrolled at the FC Institute of Beauty Therapy to study Physiology and Anatomy on completion after her SHS program. She then pursues a diploma course in Beauty Therapy for three (3) months at Cologne in Germany. Her childhood dream was to become a medical doctor but that aspiration was ejected very early in her life both of her parents died. She is hoping to pursue that dream if there’s still an opportunity for her husband to support this dream.
Currently, Philipa Baafi is now a gospel musician and a beauty therapist. She owns two shops in Kumasi and several assistants who help her in her work.
Philipa came out from her mum’s womb on May 15, 1980, the first of three (3) children. She started school at the Kings International School and continued to St. Monica’s where she was the girls’ prefect, the president of the scripture union, and the science club.
Philipa has gospel divas, Amy Newman of Ghana, and Rebecca Malope of South Africa as her local and international role models respectfully. She is currently worshiped at Calvary Baptist Church at Adabraka in Accra and she’s grateful to her numerous fans for their loyalty.
