Heutagogy
Hi,
I started editing the page on heutagogy because the information that someone had posted was irrelevant to the topic. Furthermore, there was a need to flesh out the meaning of heutagogy and its applications. The entry that was there was incomplete and hopelessly out of date.
It is hard to see how I could have a conflict of interest. I am retired and there is no pecuniary interest in this for me or my colleagues.
Wikipedia is either interested in having the facts or it is interested in just having someone's opinion who has not real understanding of the topic.
It would be unfortunate if the information about heutagogy were erroneous and of no use to anyone.
In fact, to what extent can any contribution to wikipedia be trusted if the relevant information cannot be verified by someone who at least knows the literature inside out.
The term self-directed learning has been used in relation to disabilities and is, indeed, to do with human agency. However, heutagogy, concerns all learning for any person, child or adult, regardless of a disability.
Could I perhaps complete the entry over the next week or so and then you can make a judgement.
Regards
