[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption has been reverted.
Your edit here to Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://pbs.twimg.com/media/CMlJbzeU8AAVJmh.jpg) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. [edit]I'm guessing you're American, a people who use a different version of English from English and Australian people, as I am. I cannot comprehend the American obsession with sticking extra ofs into the language. (I find "off of" particularly gruesome.) I won't revert again, but please be aware that the version of English you use is not the only one, nor is it the English version of English. HiLo48 (talk) 20:51, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you. I know that the change made by JoePhin was grammatically correct. I believed it to be less ambiguous (but honestly only ever so slightly). If you could provide a source that says it is acceptable I would more than happily admit I was wrong apologize for causing all this trouble.
Nachotacl (talk) 00:17, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
- Not wrong. Just from a different language background. HiLo48 (talk) 01:16, 29 January 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. - Please carefully read the four inclusion criteria for adding an entry to the list, here. Sundayclose (talk) 04:26, 10 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi there. I wont edit war the Common Misconceptions page. But I did believe the source I provided was sufficient to warrant meeting rule #3. Can you please explain why the additional source provided was not sufficient? I believe that source on its own can be considered the topic article for criteria fulfillment. Thanks. Nachotacl (talk) 05:59, 10 December 2022 (UTC)
- Did you actually read the four inclusion criteria? How did your edit meet criterion 1 ("The topic to which the misconception is related has an article of its own.") and criterion 3 ("The common misconception is mentioned in its topic article with sources.")? "Article" refers to a Wikipedia article. Look at the other entries as examples. Also read just above the inclusion criteria: "It is preferred to propose new items on the talk page first." If you wish to pursue this further, start a discussion on the talk page. Sundayclose (talk) 15:12, 10 December 2022 (UTC)

Well it met those criteria for being a misconception reported on in a scholarly article, I did not know article referred to wikipedia. I will add it to the talk page. Nachotacl (talk) 16:42, 10 December 2022 (UTC)
I see what you're saying now about these rules not being met; they are not. I've been too stubborn about shoehorning the entry in and I won't do that. However, if I were to add the misconception with proper citation to the gasoline wikipedia page, would that then make it a valid entry (assuming the information is not removed from that page)? It would satisfy both of these criteria. Nachotacl (talk) 02:36, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
- If you wish for the related Wikipedia article to be gasoline, the misconception must be discussed in that article, with reliable sources. I'm not sure that discussion of the misconception would remain in that article. Sundayclose (talk) 02:44, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
- I see. Thank you. Nachotacl (talk) 05:06, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
