Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Northwest Guilford High School, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Meters (talk) 22:18, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Meters. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Northwest Guilford High School have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, NWHSVIKINGS. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. AntiDionysius (talk) 14:23, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am not affiliated with any external sources related to my changes on Northwest Guilford. Everything posted is programs within the school or that our school district offers. NWHSVIKINGS (talk) 14:25, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's not about being affiliated with the sources, it's about being affiliated with the school; you should not be editing the school's page since you are affiliated with it. AntiDionysius (talk) 14:26, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK I understand. I was trying to correct incorrect information on the page. I actually am the President of the PTA that operates within the school not for the school. I am not employed with school. NWHSVIKINGS (talk) 14:38, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's a clear conflict of interest. And whether you have a conflict of interest or not, you cannot violate copyright, you need to follow the Manual of Style, and you need to avoid promotional edits. Meters (talk) 16:29, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. --Kinu t/c 14:37, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
