Solar powered homes, and solar powered cars take energy from the sun and converts it to something that we can use for our devices. The cells that convert the energy for the solar cars are called photovoltaic cells. Those cells are made up of semiconductors that absorb light. The sun’s energy releases electrons, and that energy creates the electrons flow. That flow generates power. That power starts car batteries. One benefit of having a solar car is it does not pollute the earth because it runs off of the sun’s energy and light, so its all natural. Another benefit of having a solar powered car is that they do not create greenhouse gasses, like other cars do. Also solar energy is free, so you would not have to spend money getting gas, like you would for other cars. (be specific about solar panels not polluting)

Solar cars do not burn, so they will not burn fossil fuels. Carbon dioxide will not be released through these cars either. Solar energy also saves energy, because it’s free and you will not have to spend money on other batteries. There are three classes of World Solar Challenge entries they are called Challenger class, Cruiser class, and Adventure class. New advances for solar powered vehicles include new cooling solar powered cooling systems. There are now plug-in solar powered vehicles as well.

Recent research and data that dates back to March 28, 2017 show that solar car races have been an outgoing effort to enforce less pollution to the earth. In the first sentence when you say that solar energy converts to "something" that we can use for our devices- you can be a little more specific as to what that something is? electricity? energy? Power?

Can you discuss some of the drawbacks to solar power? the costs? That might make the article read a little more balanced because it is heavy on the postive impacts.

What are the world solar challenge entries? what do they mean? is it a type of car? or a type of solar panel? All in all, this is easy to read, understand and is informative] Klosc440 (talk) 15:29, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
