BC Forests Districts/Regions list reversion
[edit]I had to delete your updated list of these on List_of_forest_regions_and_districts_of_British_Columbia because you provided no cites, also wiped redlinks which hopefully will become data pages on the stats and geography/botany of each region. I've placed it on Talk:List_of_forest_regions_and_districts_of_British_Columbia for now, you can place the cites there; once that's done I'll be glad to restore it to the article.Skookum1 (talk) 10:03, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
- each item should be cited so authors can go to the particular page easily. Other than that, restore the redlinks; and if it's a topic that interests you, start writing up the Region/District articles.Skookum1 (talk) 10:27, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
- the old maps/cites for the former list remain there; they should be dated as "before 2011" or something like that. Eventually Category:X in the Y Forest District or /Forest Region are viable, especially for things often academically cited as such, e.g. lakes and mountains, which do not belong in Regional District (municipal) cateogries.Skookum1 (talk) 10:43, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
Restoration of redirect
[edit]I have restored the redirect from Phenol–chloroform extraction to Acid guanidinium thiocyanate-phenol-chloroform extraction, which you had, for some reason, removed. The article has existed under its earlier title for over seven years, and it is entirely likely that in that time one or more people may have saved a link to it under that title, so removing the link may be unhelpful. If you believe that the redirect should not be allowed to remain in existence, it will be more constructive request deletion, because if a page is deleted at least someone searching for it is confronted with a message telling them of the page move and subsequent deletion of the redirect, so they can find where the article. Simply blanking the page, on the other hand, means that anyone searching for it is given no information at all about what has happened to it. However, unless there is some special reason why you think the existence of the link is harmful, it is likely to be more helpful to simply let the redirect remain in place, so that anyone searching for the article under its old title will be taken straight to the article under its new title.. Disambiguation link notification for September 15
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited McIlvaine buffer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Buffer. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
