  • I see that your edits to Bournemouth have been reverted, with the edit summary "Reverted good faith edits by Mythbuster121; Not specifically relevant to Bournemouth." I suggest trying to make sure that edits you make are clearly on topic, or they are likely to be reverted. If there is any doubt as to the relevance, an edit summary explaining what you are doing can help. (Type a brief explanation in the "Edit summary" box just below the editing area before you click on "Save page".) If you need to give a longer explanation than an edit summary can hold then use the talk page of the relevant article. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:27, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Since writing the above I have found that similar remarks apply to your other edits. Not only were inappropriate edits reverted, but also with them edits which (as far as I can see) were perfectly good also went in collateral damage. It is worth being careful. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Defence Humanists requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Defence_Humanists. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Scorpions13256 (talk) 13:46, 8 December 2020 (UTC) I wrote sections of both the article in wikipedia and rational wiki. I do not see a button labeled "Contest this speedy deletion"please advise where on the page this is. This is a work in progress and being developed whilst awaiting publication Wikipedia rules state: Administrators should take care not to speedily delete pages or media except in the most obvious cases. If a page has survived its most recent deletion discussion, it should not be speedily deleted except for newly discovered copyright violations and pages that meet specific uncontroversial criteria; these criteria are noted below. Contributors sometimes create pages over several edits, so administrators should avoid deleting a page that appears incomplete too soon after its creation. I am concerned that there seems to be some malicious intent to prevent this subject matter being created given the number of edits it has been subjected to compared to other articles I have contributed to. How can I raise this concern?[reply]

About the speedy deletion

[edit]

I'm sorry it took me a while to get back to you. I removed the speedy deletion template because I did not know you were the author of the RationalWiki article. Your article does not appear to be in danger of being speedily deleted any time soon. Sorry about the misunderstanding. You just have to wait for a reviewer to accept it and move it to the article space. However, I did remove some content that appeared to be copied from a source from 2005 that you did not say you wrote. We do not allow copying and pasting from other websites. Again, sorry about the confusion.Scorpions13256 (talk) 21:47, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm RenatUK. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Nord Stream 2, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Renat 22:21, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edit reversion

[edit]

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 14:25, 23 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for that information. I am still learning about this process. However a conclusion that I have reached is that it appears certain interest groups insert questionnable material into wiki entries and then set themselves up as impartial arbitrators to prevent such material from being corrected. I cannot see the reversion that you have raised. Can you reference the wiki entry? Mythbuster121 (talk) 10:11, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
