Hi! Many thanks for your edits to the article about Marc Brattin. Contributions of people knowledgeable in a field or on a subject are always very welcome. However, it is a key blieve of Wikipedia that author's of articles should be free of conflicts of interest. If you worked with the band, it is likely you have a conflict, see also WP:COI. Therefore, it is discouraged to make substantial edits on articles directly and instead use the Talk Page to request changes or go through the WP:AFC process.
Also, the concerns of the original deletion discussion have not been addressed. The sources do confirm Brattin is a member of the band, however they do not establish notability of the person. Articles are either about the band (where he is mentioned as a member) or they are authored by him. The reliability of those sources may also be questioned. In order to establish notability for a biography of a living person, Wikipedia would normally expect sources that are about the subject and go into detail about the subject beyond pure mention by association. They should also be independent of the subject (i.e. not authored by the subject) and in reliable sources. Press-released or blogs are not normally considered reliable.
If there are new sources that establish Brattin's individual notability, I recommend using the WP:AfC process and inclusion of such sources in a new article. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 09:15, 29 December 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Mynerdywebguy. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Mynerdywebguy. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Mynerdywebguy|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. – NJD-DE (talk) 23:00, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
