Mwenyeji Spikes moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Mwenyeji Spikes. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources and it is promotional and reads like an advertisement. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Liz Read! Talk! 07:04, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Draft:Mwenyeji Spikes. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Hosted By Spikes - Mwenyeji Spikes

[edit]

Mwenyeji Spikes, originally known as Matthews from Nairobi, is recognized as a literary critic and a vocal poet. His initial compilation, titled "Afromental Contagion" in 2002, marked his emergence in the poetry scene. Since then, he has collaborated with various poets and spoken word artists, including Tear Drops and Namatsi Lukoye, contributing significantly to the poetry landscape in Kenya. Beyond his poetic endeavors, Spikes has actively supported emerging arts and has become notable for his involvement in the annual Central Wacka Wacka Festival of music, arts, and African culture, solidifying his presence in the arts community. His interests extend to music, community engagement, and art programs, leading him to engage in social activism and community empowerment. He hosts the weekly Afrocentric podcast called the "African Ways podcast," aimed at empowering and uniting Africans worldwide through news, information, and socio-economic and political commentary. In addition to his podcast, Spikes is recognized as an underground emcee, blending social consciousness with entertainment. He has hosted numerous mixtapes and featured on hip-hop albums. Currently, he hosts "Pumzi Mixtape Fridays" in Nairobi every last Friday of the month, providing a platform for both emerging and established talents in poetry and hip-hop. To further support talent scouting and development in the arts, Mwenyeji co-founded "Pumzi Afrika," a creative agency dedicated to empowering budding artists in both rural and urban areas. This initiative fosters an environment for the local growth and development of art. Mwenyeji Spikes (talk) 08:03, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hello, Mwenyeji Spikes,
If you are only interested in writing about yourself and your projects, you will soon find yourself blocked from editing as you are only interested in self-promotion. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia with referenced articles about notable subjects. This doesn't include you. I recommend that you find other ways to contribute to the project. Liz Read!
