Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes ([[User:Redwolf24|Redwolf24]] 09:08, 14 July 2005 (UTC)) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes ([[User:Redwolf24|Redwolf24]]) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

Hi, I'm happy to add a license to my picture, but I have no idea how to do that. It was hard enough figuring out how to upload the image in a regular way, not on Wikipedia Commons. Could you advise? Yoninah 11:38, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. "If you upload a file here to which you hold the copyright, you must license it under the GNU Free Documentation License or release it into the public domain." I recommend the GFDL: simply edit the page Image:Jerusalemsukkas.jpg and license it by adding there {{GFDL-self}}. (I noticed that there is a GFD License in your Image:Porchsukka.jpg.) -Easlak 11:55, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I figured out how to upload it to Wikimedia Commons, and gave it a license there. It is also named Image:Jerusalemsukkas.jpg. Thanks, Yoninah 20:31, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I fixed the description page on Image:Porchsukka.jpg too. Both pictures were taken on the same day on the same street. Yoninah 21:23, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
One more question: I found a picture on Wikimedia Commons that I would like to use on a Wikipedia article page. How do I write it into the article? If I write Image:XYZ.jpg (in double brackets), nothing comes up. Yoninah 21:42, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hm, it should work? Are you sure that you have the name in correct form (it can be .JPG, for example). -Easlak 21:48, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, I had the wrong name. Thanks, Yoninah 08:50, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Terve. Voisitko poistaa IP-osoitteeni käyttökiellon? Jostain syystä kotitietokoneeni IP-osoite on käytössä myös monella muulla ja siksi osoitteesta tulee välillä myös roskaa. IP-osoitteeni on 213.216.199.10. Kun ensi kerran harkitset laittavasi käyttökiellon jollekkin IP-osoitteelle, pyytäisin miettimään miltä sinusta tuntuisi olla se aika tahtomattasi käyttökiellossa. --213.216.199.10 14:03, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tämä kuuluu suomiwikin puolelle, mutta vastaan silti: IP-osoitteen esto on ainoa keino saada sotkeminen loppumaan. On minunkin kotikoneeni IP estetty useaan otteeseen; pääset muokkaamaan kun hankit käyttäjätunnuksen ja otat välityspalvelimen pois käytöstä. -Easlak 11:53, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Well, an information on the time the photo was taken is in the Metadata below the image on the image page. As concerns the location, I'll try to find it in the Google Earth right now and add the link into the article. Cmapm 20:13, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
