RE:The Mabuhay Channel

The channel was re-branded as FTV in August but I have been debating whether to update the article since the Ethnic Channels website has not been updated. I knew someone would say I was wrong since the website still says 'Mabuhay Channel'. I recently came across an article about the name change and have now updated the article with the updated info. Unfortunately these Ethnic Channels guys do not seem to care at all about their website, it has not been updated in a year so don't go by the website for info. Check out Rogers' website and you will see that The Mabuhay Channel is no longer there and they now list FTV. I wish someone would get these guys to pay more attention to the site as it is the primary means of information for potential subscribers but I guess they don't give a crap. Thanks. SVG logos

I don't think that Comedy's logo is incorrect, just because their logo became 3D doesn't mean that that logo is incorrect. For example, CTV's logo on their website and on air features the C sphere being 3D and had shadowing, but the 2D logo is shown on CTV's article. Comedy still uses their 2D logo along with their 3D logo and since the 2D logo is higher quality than the 3D one, I believe that the 2D logo should be used. --Emarsee ^{(Talk • Contribs)} 02:04, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

The same could be argued about CTV's logo. As far as I'm aware, both CTV and TCN almost never use their 2D version (TCN uses it during the orignal programming bumper, might be more but unsure) of the logo on air and choose to use their updated 3D versions. HBO Canada

In general I agree with you re multiplex channels. But I think the unique circumstances of this one - the fact that it's essentially the same channel operating under two separate owners / licences - suggest the best choice is a separate article. Otherwise we have to maintain identical content about the channel in two articles, which seems pointless to me (why have two articles to change when you only need one?)

Beyond that... how to decide which page HBO Canada redirects to? Unless we decide to use a disambiguation page instead - in which case we're basically creating a page directing users to exactly the same information in two different articles, which strikes me as needless complication.

RE: The Ecology Channel

I did a lot of searching around on the net to try and find out when it shut down but was unable to find anything. The info I posted is taken from the archives of a Canadian TV forum and posts that were made about the Green Channel/Ecology Channel. Based on what was posted it appears as though it when off the air the first time in fall 2003, I think September. The same goes for the second shut down, I just guessed based on the info in the posts. Um, yes, there IS a difference. It may be subtle to you, but there is a difference. Compare closely the new logo with the old one and notice that the typeface for the NFL logo has been changed (see also the old version of the NFL shield and the new one). In addition, the blue on the new logo is of a darker shade—it's not just the file, I've seen this logo in actual usage.
