When In Rome Band

[edit]

Can you please note that I have notified various Wikipedia contributors about the persistent vandalism by evilc100, if you follow the history path you will see that the Wikipedia arbitrators have updated this page and on March 03rd, 2009 Salmurai posted the following:

{{helpme}} I was asked (see above) to monitor the article for When in Rome (band) because of vandalism. There are two IPs - 81.6.233.80 and 86.139.39.20 -- and one editor - User:Evilc100 - persistantly making identical changes, replacing a verified link with a non-existant one, and adding unsourced information, some of which contradicts the band's history. It may be factual, but I can't find sources for it, not even a press release, and of course the website being added doesn't exist (or, I can't access it, from three separate connections). The article needs better sources anyway, which is on my "list of things to do", but what do I do about the existing good-faith "vandalism", before this turns into an edit war? Thanks. Salamurai (talk) 13:46, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

I have replaced the vandalized page with the latest Wikipedia version as verified by Salmurai.Musicwerks (talk) 06:12, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that you place helpme requests on your own talk page, not someone else's. This was copied to your talk page for reference. - Jameson L. Tai talkguestbookcontribs 06:20, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I added the notes about the naming dispute to the article, which you removed and Wiruk (talk) has restored. You haven't provided a summary explaining why you removed the notes and I was wondering if there is something wrong with it, either in source or text. There have been a number of issues with the article over time and I am trying to keep it neutral. Thanks! - Salamurai (talk) 05:06, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As I stated to you, I added the information. If the name dispute has been resolved, please provide a source. The Pollstar ref (presently #9) indicates Floreale and Juarez are still in dispute; however, that article is a few months old, and I was not able to find newer information. I see from your contribution history that you claim to be a founding member of the band; I urge you to read the guidelines at Wikipedia:Autobiography, with regard to editing articles that concern yourself. Thank you. - Salamurai (talk) 10:48, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mister Floreale:

I would appreciate if you would read and understand these policies of Wikipedia:

Wikipedia:An article about yourself is nothing to be proud of Wikipedia:Conflict of interest Wikipedia:Dispute resolution Wikipedia:Autobiography

A similar message has been left for Messers. Farrington & Mann.

It would be great if the dispute between versions of When in Rome wouldn't be continually brought to the Wikipedia article. Thanks. - Salamurai (talk) 08:40, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Question for administrator

[edit]

{{admin help}}

--Musicwerks (talk) 01:43, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

When In Rome; I own the US trademark for the band name When In Rome ((http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4004:h6gbe7.2.6) reg no 3,899,742) and former members are continually altering the page to dispute ownership of the name and are also misrepresenting facts. This page has so far been moderated by Salamurai who has done a great job of moderating the page and verifying the facts. He has tried to maintain the integrity of the information and worked hard verifying facts but recently the ex-members have been very aggressive in continuing to edit the page and are using the edit history to make comments and statements which are inappropriate. I contacted Salamurai on October 01st, 2011 and he has referred me to admin help as he now feels this is an edit war. Can you help ? I do not want to continually edit the page but I cannot allow the ex-members to undo all the hard work that Salamurai and myself have done to establish a verifiable, factual history of the band.

I restored the pre-editwar version of the page as a stable version people can use to discuss changes. To be clear: I do not endorse anyone's edits nor do I care about your trademark (which is irrelevant for Wikipedia). I also fully protected the page in this pre-editwar state per WP:PREFER to avoid rewarding you or the other editors for their edit-warring. You have seven days to use the talk page to resolve your disagreements, although I noticed that the other editors were blocked for making legal threats.
