Hi. I remember that you helped with our last FA project, Trial by Jury. I have now nominated Pinafore at FAC: Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/H.M.S. Pinafore/archive1 If you have a chance, would you kindly take a look? All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:16, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Sorry I couldn't help, but it looks like you didn't need it after all! Congrats! Great article! I think Hair (musical) might be ready.... — MusicMaker5376 01:52, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Hair

You'll have to lead the charge. All the fight has been beaten out of me, I'm afraid. Welcome back! -- Ssilvers (talk) 03:59, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Well, I'm not sure how "back" I plan to be. I've seriously culled the watchlist, as it was formidable, to just a handful of articles. Hair, of course, being one. I'm a little out of practice, and would welcome any "words of wisdom". Have there been any major changes? I noticed WP:MOSDATE (LONG overdue!), but am not too sure about things since then. — MusicMaker5376 04:51, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Editorial policy changes? I'm not aware of anything that affects us, really. Before you nominate for FA, you might want to get one of the MOS mavens, like User:Finetooth to review. Also, are you done with the to do list? I thought you still wanted to check on a couple of items. I think the article will be criticized as too long, and at some point I'll go through it to see if I can slim anything down a bit. In particular, I think the themes sections can probably by slimmed down. But, even though editors sometimes say "too long", I am not aware of an article failing FA because of that. -- Ssilvers (talk) 15:08, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Considering the article size, I think I am done with the todo list. I haven't really had a chance to sit down and give the article a good read in awhile, so I don't remember quite what made it in and what didn't. As for article length, I must admit that I have sales in my blood, and am conditioned to "open high"! If anyone cries "too long" at FAC, I'm certainly willing to make some cuts. Do you think it would benefit from another PR? — MusicMaker5376 15:23, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

A PR wouldn't hurt, but if you don't want to wait that long, I think you'd be OK if 1. You and I both give it a full read (especially if you check all the refs carefully to make sure that all the links work and that they are all WP:RS; and 2. We get Finetooth to go thru for an MOS review. -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:15, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm not in too much of a hurry; I'd like to see it promoted by September-ish. Perhaps enlisting María? She was extraordinarily helpful during the PR, and seemed to have a genuine interest in the article. Why don't we take the next couple of weeks to copy edit (if you're up to it -- I've noticed that most of your edit summaries are "ce", so I'm hoping you're willing and able!) and I'll check and reformat the refs. Perhaps we can break the article into sections for copy editing -- you can take History thru Dramatics and I'll take Music thru the end? If you're up for that, I'll warn María and Finetooth that we'll be asking for their assistance in a week or two. — MusicMaker5376 18:07, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

OK, but I will leave the references to you throughout. As you may recall, you are using a ref format that differs from my preferred one, and so I will totally let you deal with consistency among refs. I will be happy to copy edit the text, but I won't check refs, unless it jumps out at me that something is wrong with a ref. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:15, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Well, the plan is to get rid of them and just use bare references. They seem to make the most people the happiest, so I will happily take care of most of them. In fact, they don't start until "Critical Reception". — MusicMaker5376 19:46, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Ah, I see. Yes, I think that's better. But I think the date should go at the end of the footnotes instead of right after the author's name: Author, title, page no. (if any), publisher, date, ISBN# would be my usual preference, because I think the reader wants to know the title of the article or book first, and the date can come later. But I'll stick with whatever system you use, since you've done the hard work on it. All the best, -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:24, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

If you want to format them that way in your sections, then I'll do it that way in mine. Otherwise, if it doesn't really matter, I'll just continue doing it the way I was. — MusicMaker5376 00:49, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

OK, I'll leave it the way you were doing it. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:13, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

DYK nomination of St. Thomas of Villanova Church

Hello! Your submission of St. Thomas of Villanova Church at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! MovieMadness (talk) 15:50, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Jeopardy! single day winners

I replied, I think you're confusing Jennings' total winnings record (which Brad Rutter beat if you include his tournament winnings) with Jennings' single day record. Staxringold talkcontribs 17:22, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for replying here; I'll reply at the article talk. — MusicMaker5376 17:33, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Future tag deprecation

Per my suggestion which you can now see here, I've moved the bulk of our long dispute at Deprecating future templates to the talk page. I know you said you weren't planning to participate anymore, but since this involved moving your comments I thought you should be notified. I did this because I felt others not involved in the dispute were being put off from sharing their opinions on the issue because of our dispute. I did leave the first few comments on the main page, and posted a link to the continuation on the talk page. If you object in some way let me know. Equazcion (talk) 01:53, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Not a problem. — MusicMaker5376 05:35, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Awards in infobox

I don't feel strongly. I don't like infoboxes at all (because they contain redundant info and get in the way of the opening image) and would not object to their elimination. I'd rather see the information presented clearly in narrative prose in the Lead. So, I guess I'd opt in most cases to eliminate all but the most important information from the infoboxes. -- Ssilvers (talk) 14:03, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Live Phish Downloads

I remember you being in favor of the whole creation of pages for the Live Phish Download series last year. I recently began uploading summer 2009 shows, and my latest in the series is up for deletion as it has been tagged a "non-notable music download". If that is the case, nearly 100 entries will be tagged and deleted under this "policy". If you get a moment, go to Live Phish Downloads: 06.07.09 and voice your opinion on the matter. -- Rjvaughn1979 (talk) 13:20, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm actually not sure how I feel about them. When they were in breakup mode, it seemed like something that could be conceivably done. Now that they're touring again, it looks like they're planning to release EVERY show as an LP download. I don't think it's a great idea to have a separate article on each one, but I'm not going to weigh in at the AfD either way. (But I may make a comment or two....) — MusicMaker5376 19:34, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Meh. Changed my mind. However, his comment about WP:RS is one that needs to be taken into account. — MusicMaker5376 19:50, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

September 2009

Sorry, I wasn't clear about it. It was other live albums by other artists (I forgot which artists, but I remember there was a Micheal Jackson one. There was a Phish one that got deleted (both you and me took part in that). I'll strike it out on the AfD though. TheWeakWilled (T * G) 20:43, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

File:12 days 2nd vs.png missing description details

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:12 days 2nd vs.png is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:05, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Every Valley typo

Hi, File:Every Valley.jpg looks really good except for the third note of the pickup, D sharp in every edition I know! All the best, Sparafucil (talk) 23:08, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi. What do you think of this? My sense has been that in the musicals articles we do not use quotes in the song lists: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hair_%28musical%29&action=historysubmit&diff=332878483&oldid=332400081 Please comment. -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:23, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

I saw that. Not particularly fond of it, but I didn't revert as I'm still stinging from the last drive-by editor's accusation of ownership. It's correct, but makes things look busy. I don't think it's something WPMT ever discussed. Your call. — MusicMaker5376 19:44, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
i just looked at Guys and Dolls (had songs in quotes) and Wicked (didn't have quotes) .. so i don't know what the official wiki format is - re that weird editor dude, don't sweat it - imho he was being disruptive for the sake of being disruptive - Mblaxill (talk) 22:25, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

I reverted. The guidelines say that one should not change the established format of an article without a good reason to do so. As MM noted, there is no consensus at WP:MUSICALS to use the quotes in this list (it's a list of songs, so we know they're song titles) and my sense is that most musicals articles do not use them in the lists; probably for the reason that MM suggests above. -- Ssilvers (talk) 02:38, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

we lost the Hair poster in the lede

Not sure what happened .. any suggestions? - Mblaxill (talk) 18:16, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

We have been working on the Offenbach article, but none of us knows how to make ogg files. I know you're only on WP occasionally these days, but do you think you could help us out? If so, please come by the article's talk page. Thanks! -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:17, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

I'd be happy to! I know you guys are thinking about GAN or FAC, so I'll try to get to it as soon as I can, but I can't make any promises on time. I'm assuming that you'll want some of the PD files here -- pick which ones you want and I'll convert them. Post the links here. Do they need to be cut for time? My recollection of policy is that fair use files need to be cut, but one could post an entire PD recording. I don't know if that's changed, but if they need cuts, let me know what cut you'd want. Download the MP3, play it in whatever media player you use, and tell me, you know, 0:15-2:18 or whatever. — MusicMaker5376 03:29, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
