Project banners
I've noticed that you're doing a lot with project banners, adding them where necessary, and that's much appreciated. May I ask a favor? When you add a banner so that there's three or more present, would you mind also nesting them, useing {{WikiProjectBannerShell}} ? Thanks! AKRadeckiSpeaketh 17:29, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
- Sure thing. Funny you should mention it -- I was actually planning on going back through my contribution history and fixing that up. :) Mukk 17:31, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
- NP...I just did a couple. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 17:34, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of New Guinea Big-eared Bat, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://medlibrary.org/medwiki/New_Guinea_big-eared_bat. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 04:12, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Moving
Hi, when you move pages, please use the "move" tab near the top of the page instead of copying and pasting the text. Copy/paste moves violate the GFDL. Thanks!! -- But|seriously|folks 04:33, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- Whoops -- sorry. Totally forgot about that. Will remember to do so next time. Cheers! -- Mukk 04:34, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- No problem, it's one of those nuances many people overlook. Take care! -- But|seriously|folks 11:31, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks!
Thanks for the help on Cyclura pinguis. I see you're knowledgeable about reptiles...would you mind checking over the other Cyclura articles if you get a chance? It's a pet project of mine and I could use a second pair of eyes because I spell like a dyslexic goat sometimes!--Mike Searson 03:15, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
- Sure thing. I just checked over Cyclura, Turks and Caicos rock iguana, Cyclura rileyi rileyi. Will do the rest as I have time. -- Mukk 03:31, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! You're awesome!--Mike Searson 03:33, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
More thanks!
Thanks for your corrections of details in the articles on Mes-ag-tshoms and Bhrikuti. I tend to work too quickly (and when I am tired) - and often miss out on these typos. Your help is much appreciated. John Hill 06:51, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
kakukaku
If you vocalize the above to a Polish speaker, it translates as "shitshit." --Ludvikus 05:49, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- I know. It took me about three years to figure that out. It was only when I was living in Kraków and I told someone my username that I realized it. We had a good laugh over that. -- Mukk 05:51, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Redirect of USS Chetco (AT-99)
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on USS Chetco (AT-99), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because USS Chetco (AT-99) is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting USS Chetco (AT-99), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Tag maintenance?
Hi. There seems to have been a mistake in this edit; you might like to look into what caused it. Paul_012 (talk) 19:44, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- Bodindecha (Sing Singhaseni) School is a school in Thailand, hence the Asia tag. I'm not sure why it got the Central Asia tag rather than the Southeastern Asia tag, but I did do some tune-up on my methodology about halfway through and that might've caused it. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. --Mukk 22:39, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Welcome!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, article improvement contests, and other tasks.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a style guide that covers article structure and content, template use, categorization, and many other issues of interest.
- The project has a stress hotline available for your use.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill 18:22, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Your edit to the Michael Bishop page.
I reverted your use of capitalization of the word "arctic" in the Michael Bishop article. This is a direct quote from a printed source, who used the word as an adjective, meaning "frigid". The capitalization would make it refer to the Polar region which is not the intent of its usage in this context. Thank you. Mhhutchins 03:20, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. Think I had a brain fart. -- Mukk 03:30, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Merge of coal mining and sub-surface mining
Hello! Beagel pointed me to where I can find you, as you are interested in articles regarding mining. I've started a discussion regarding the merger of sub-surface mining into coal mining - I'd appreciate your opinion. Cheers and thanks in advance! --Ouro (blah blah) 10:04, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Why did you add the WikiProject Florida tag to this article? It's about a school in Greece, and there is no mention of Florida anywhere in the (very brief) article. I have removed the project tag, but I'm curious as to why it was added in the first place. Horologium t-c 04:02, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- I had strung a number of browsers together for the tagging project. About halfway through, one of the browsers hiccuped and became unsynchronized. I went back and managed to fix most of the mis-tags, but it appears I missed one. Sorry about that. --Mukk 05:37, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
League of Copyeditors roll call
Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there. The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors. |
