Recent edit reversion
[edit]In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.
I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.
I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 17:42, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
- Dear SPhilbrick, thanks for writing. As an associate fellow of AAET, the leadership has told me to create a Wikipedia page for them. And all the content were from official publication with citations.
- They are 100% accurate and true for Wikipedia readers to learn about this regional learned society. I would like to request your assistance to approve the latest version for publication.
- Thank you. Mtlai (talk) 15:01, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry but there's more than one problem. Your connection to a AET means you have a conflict of interest. We don't prohibit editors from contributing when they have a conflict of interest, but we have a special process. Briefly and I can provide more details if necessary, you should propose changes on the article talk page and lead an independent determine the changes.
- Although the until you used came from official publications, that's actually problematic in two ways. We want articles to be independent we don't particularly care what organizations say about themselves ( with some exceptions such as address). Second, even if the material is not problematic on independence grounds, it is subject to copyright. While you might think you were instructed to create a Wikipedia page that means implicitly they are given you permission to use the material but that's not how our copyright process works. We need explicit permission from someone who is authorized to allow material to be used, and that is relatively unusual as the permission needs to allow anybody to use the material at any time for any purpose in most organizations aren't willing to provide that permission. If they are we can talk about the process but it has to be handled in a special way.--S Philbrick(Talk) 22:17, 11 June 2022 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for July 22
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Pre-nominal letters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Builder. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
