Hi there,
Thank you so much for agreeing to mentor me. A little about myself, I am a sophomore at Montana State University. I have never edited anything on wikipedia before, so this is all very new to me. It also takes me a little while to catch on to technology, so I might just be asking basic "how to" questions at first.
At this point in time, I believe I will be editing and creating articles on monumental cases that changed tribal sovereignty, maybe even some biographies on the individuals involved. Thanks again, Jessica Msujsj (talk) 06:27, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
Hey! Did you still want to work together on a project? I don't know what to pick and I'm so scared! YIKES Starryright (talk) 06:08, 11 February 2011 (UTC)Starryright
Re Chief Pretty Eagle
[edit]I see that you've chosen this article for your class WP assignment. Good choice as it does need some work. Below is a list of suggestions to help you work on the article.
- Add an Infobox template:infobox person to the article and complete as much of the infobox data that you can find.
- Add a number of images of Pretty Eagle to the article (one can go in the infobox)
- Flesh out the article with the typical section headings found in a biography (see Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography)
- Review similar biographies to see what types of information is appropriate: Spotted Elk and Little Wolf are good examples
- Remember to cite all your sources using template:cite book, template:cite web or template:cite journal as appropriate.
- Make sure you are paraphrasing your sources, not copying them verbatim. If you want to quote a source, be sure and make the quotation clear and cite the source.
Let me know if you have any questions. Good Luck --Mike Cline (talk) 16:16, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for the advice and setting me on the right track!
