Population figures for Native Americans

[edit]

If you're going to make changes to the population figures in the article Native Americans in the United States, please provide a reliable alternative source, instead of merely changing the number. The number currently provided (having reverted your edit) is based on the 2000 U.S. Census, appropriately sourced: you merely changed the number without changing the source, and apparently without reading the footnote which gives the actual figure for "alone or in combination" (your figure was for "alone or in combination" was inaccurate by being too low). I have no argument if there are better figures than the ones provided, but only if they have a reliable source, and that source is cited. It the right numbers need to be discussed, the talk page for the article might be a good place to start. Regards. --Yksin 07:27, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speculative African American impact in North Carolina

[edit]

Regarding the content you keep trying to put into this article...

"North Carolina also has a large African American population, which could help Obama win a close race."

You need a reliable source to back this up. A census of races in the state does not support the statement. The census only shows that many African Americans are in North Carolina, not that they "could help Obama win a close race." If you can provide a reliable source that demonstrates that the state's African American population could have an impact on the election, I won't remove it. --Oakshade (talk) 19:29, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
