Gurg

[edit]

The merit of this subject to the encyclopaedia was discussed by Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gurg. If you wish to dipsute that result there is a deletion review process, in the mean time I have redirected Gurg to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Guy 10:39, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on The Understudies, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why The Understudies is really notable, you can contest the tagging. To do this, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and leave a note on Talk:The Understudies, explaining how The Understudies is notable. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. (aeropagitica) 10:01, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated the article Sketch with Kevin McDonald for deletion, under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the nomination (also see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on why the topic of the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome: participate in the discussion by editing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sketch with Kevin McDonald. Add four tildes like this ˜˜˜˜ to sign your comments. You can also edit the article Sketch with Kevin McDonald during the discussion, but do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top of the article), this will not end the deletion debate. I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Comedians on MySpace, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Vanier College Productions

[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Vanier College Productions, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. B. Wolterding 17:51, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Pete Zedlacher, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Mike Myers (actor)

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you've been adding your signature to some of your article contributions, such as you did to Mike Myers (actor). This is a simple mistake to make and is easy to correct. For future reference, the need to associate edits with users is taken care of by an article's edit history. Therefore, you should use your signature only when contributing to talk pages, the Village Pump, or other such discussion pages. For a better understanding of what distinguishes articles from these type of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thanks for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Mrsblink182! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 8 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 153 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

The article Debra DiGiovanni has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced BLP, WP:BIO.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The article Kristen Pontisso has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A good-faith web search (see Talk:Kristen Pontisso#Notability) for coverage of the subject of the article in published independent, reliable sources yielded evidence only of directory-level coverage or passing mentions, and not of significant coverage. In the absence of such coverage, the subject does not appear to meet the general notability guideline for inclusion. In addition, based on the available, verifiable information about the subject, the subject does not appear to meet any of the topic-specific alternate indicators of notability.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ron Sparks (comedian), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Firm (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
