Please don't remove sourced text
[edit]Unless you can show it doesn't correctly represent the text, that the source doesn't meet WP:RS ot is WP:UNDUE. If you think my source fails RS please take it to WP: RSN. Thanks. Doug Weller talk 19:44, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
Dear Doug,
Many thanks for your comment. The information in the article is misleading and incorrect, which is why I edited it. As I'm relatively new to editing Wikepedia articles I apologise if I have not followed the correct protocols. Could you please, for my benefit, explain in simple terms why you have taken issue with my correction of the article?
Thanks very much. Mrmisr (talk) 08:13, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
- Simply that sources state that the Nile Valley exists in Sudan, and that in one instance where you removed 'Nubian' it was referring to the region that is still called Nubia]. Do you have issues with my changes and if so what are they? I'm offline for the next few hours. There is a real learning curve to editing Wikipedia. Have you read WP:VERIFY and WP:NOR? North Africa
[edit]Please discuss on the article talk page before making such major changes without supplying references. Otherwise you will get reverted. Without a wp:rs you are adding your opinion. Roger 8 Roger (talk) 15:54, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
Hi Roger, many thanks for sending me a message.
All changes made were referenced, and no additional information that required referencing was added. - I'm fairly sure, unless you can correct me? The only new information was in the table, which was updated to reflect 2016 data. These should all have been referenced correctly, but please do let me know if not. Also the additional figure, which again was referenced.
I'd be more than happy to discuss the article, and indeed North Africa, with you. I'm going to revert back to the newer version, as all additional content was referenced. Other edits were minor corrections to existing content / correcting English, etc.
There are numerous places in the article where additional references are needed, and this is something I intend to spend some time looking at. I'd be more than happy to discuss missing references and updates with you.
Unfortunately, the reverted article contains many inaccuracies and much out-of-date information. Unfortunately, articles like this, with incorrect information, are why Wikipedia occasionally gets a bad name.
