Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Mr. Jason Wilson
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Mr. Jason Wilson, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. "Contest this speedy deletion"
[edit]Greetings Athaenara,
First, thank you for your volunteer work here on Wikipedia.
Second, please look at this approved page on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eshon_Burgundy
We are attempting to include Mr. Jason Wilson in Wikipedia's online encyclopedia in the same manner. Mr. Jason Wilson has done work within the same genre as the Eshon Burgundy example. The purpose and goal of Jason's page is not for advertisement. Jason and I are against self-promotion or breaking established rules. The page is for information purposes and we would like to begin the page before anyone else does.
Here is another example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cross_Movement
I used to personally work for The Cross Movement and also the label, Cross Movement Records.
These approved pages are similar to the setup desired for Mr. Jason Wilson's page.
I would be grateful for any help you can provide.
Kind Regards, JD — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:5CC:100:6560:FD87:DF13:A657:6BB8 (talk) 18:34, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
Regarding Conflict of Interest
[edit]Greetings @Althanara —
Thanks for your response.
While it is true that I am fortunate enough to know some people in my personal life who have Wikipedia pages about them, I did not create their pages.
My larger point was that I know of instances first-hand of people who have Wikipedia pages very similar to the one submitted for Mr. Jason Wilson. If their page can be approved, why can't his? There is little difference between his and the examples of approved Wikipedia pages that I cited. I can cite many additional examples, if helpful.
I will also volunteer my time to review the page submitted for Mr. Jason Wilson to see what can be removed or edited to make it 200% compliant with Wikipedia's guidelines. In order to do this, I believe I might need you to un-delete the page.
Sincerely, JD
