Conflict of interest.

[edit]

Hello, I don't understand your obsession with the Prague Film School. It's the only contribution you've made to the site. How do you know that the school doesn't want to be linked to FAMU? Either you are imagining it or you are modifying my contribution for the school. It's a conflict of interest. My contribution was carefully sourced by a press article that describes the school being confused by foreign students. But if the school doesn't want to be linked to FAMU, and Prague Film School is a good school, why delete my contribution? The confusion is real, as the article describes : https://www.idnes.cz/kultura/film-televize/filmarem-za-mesic-a-za-sedesat-tisic.A080428_173236_filmvideo_kot I'm afraid that taking this position in your contribution is against the rules for using wikipedia. Hello. In response to “how do you know the school doesn’t want to be associated with FAMU,” the answer is quite simple: because they say so on their web page (the distinction is made as well at the top of the Wikipedia article. The question is rather why would Prague Film School wish to be linked to other schools, namely FAMU in this instance?

The article you direct readers to about Prague Film School was written in 2008 by Mirka Spacilova. A more recent contribution by the same author, this time reflecting on FAMU and its decline since the early 90s,  can be found here: https://www.idnes.cz/kultura/film-televize/komentar-famu-odvolavani-dekana.A180522_143922_filmvideo_ts   Mrevcz (talk) 13:18, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, my contribution is fully verified. The Hollywood Reporter takes into account, for its ranking, the Palme d'Ors and Oscars won by the school's students (I'm not saying it's right, but that's how the ranking is constructed). Prague Film School has neither an Oscar nor a Palme d'Or, while FAMU has 3 Palme d'Ors and 2 Golden Lions. CINETHO (talk) 14:49, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The Hollywood Reporter ranking is different every year. While FAMU has been part of this ranking in the past, as well as the latest one, Prague Film School has been genuinely listed on the ranking in 2022 and 2023. The ranking takes awards from prestigious festivals into consideration, but limiting it strictly to Palme d'Or and Academy Awards is taking it too literally. As cited on the Prague Film School article, their alumni have won awards at Locarno, as well as have been selected to the A-tier festivals such as Cannes, TIFF, Sundance Venice, Tribeca, Berlinale.
