Speedy deletion of The Kilkenny boys

[edit]

A tag has been placed on The Kilkenny boys, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. AngelOfSadness talk 16:05, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading Image:St Canice Kilkenny statue.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

Possible vandalism

[edit]

Hi there. Please do not alter references to Northern Ireland to Ireland, this can be perceived as vandalism. It makes no sense to alter a reference to a country to point to an island, it's like altering England to read Europe. Also please stop altering references to County Londonderry to read County Derry or point to County Derry. There has never been a County Derry in the history of Ireland, only a County Londonderry. Some may call it County Derry but it still remains that there has only ever been an official name of County Londonderry and on Wikipedia we must remain neutral and not use non-offical naming with a political bias and promotion. Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. A welcome and a warning

[edit]

Hi. Welcome to wikipedia. Just wanted to recomend something, that guy, Ben W Bell, on who's Talk page you left a message, is up to no good. Pretty much ALL of the time when an article he's editing is about, or is related to Nothern Ireland. And he can be particularly vicous when anything pro-british is altered in any significant way. So I just thought I'd tell you to watch out for him watch out for him (he's been after me for months now). User: Teknolyze—Preceding comment was added at 22:17, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing it out, but I'd have noticed it anyway. He is a known vandal who has been warned by several users, not just myself with a history of vandalism and personal attacks.

By the way in case I didn't make it clear earlier, welcome to Wikipedia and I hope your stay is a long and productive one. If you have any queries or need help with anything just drop me a line and I'll do what I can to help. Don't worry about some editors, I'm called both a protestant unionist bigot and a republican Irish pig on pretty much an equal basis (and I assure you I am only the former) by various editors who don't like neutrality and officialdom.

Again thanks for the thought and happy editing.Ben W Bell talk 00:32, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Response

[edit]

Just to clarify, I am not a known vandal of any regard and the only other user who has warned me of anything was due to something my sister edited messing around with my profile. Look, I have no interest whatsoever in personaly attacking anyone and would much rather spend my time while on wikipedia adding contributions to things I actually care about, not waste my time with nonsense political battles with fellow editors. While I do have a political opinion, I have no interest in enforcing it on other people in any situation at any time, least of all here. Once again I am not a vandal of any description but have no desire garner a reputation as one, so for that reason I'm going to meet you half-way and stop editing articles relating to Nothern Ireland. I don't think any one needs the hassle that would ensue. but I stand by my thoughts that you and I have very different definitions of what constitutes neutrality.

and on the subject of the article you mentioned about Hiberno-english, the additional saying I added was not mess acting. It's a commonly used phrase in inner city Limerick which I thought deserved mention. Nothing more. user:Teknolyze
