[edit]Welcome aboard! We're delighted to have you on board WikiProject Spaceflight. Wikipedia is a fun place, but it can be a little bewildering at first. I'll be happy to show you the ropes! :)
Also, feel free to join us at our Discord channel, where we coordinate in real-time:

@Neopeius: Cookies always welcome, I only hope I can be helpful to the Spaceflight project! Although I don't have much time on my hands, I'll contribute as best I can. Mr. Cuckoo (talk) 16:43, 24 March 2019 (UTC)
- What are you interested in? I am working on 1964 in spaceflight, currently. Always happy to have help. :)
- @Neopeius: Excellent! I have an obsession with vintage rocketry, I'll see what I can do... Mr. Cuckoo (talk) 18:47, 24 March 2019 (UTC)
- Try picking, say, five topics that really interest you, and I can make some suggestions on where to get started. --Neopeius (talk) 18:55, 24 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Neopeius: My interests are quite broad, but I think I can narrow it down to five: (1) 20th century military history, (2) rocketry & astronautics, (3) physics (yes, the entire field of physics), (4) chemistry (preferably dealing primarily with chemical properties), (5) astronomy. Quite a broad spectrum.. Mr. Cuckoo (talk) 21:02, 24 March 2019 (UTC)
- Haha. I meant specifically dealing with spaceflight. Do you have any particular missions, personalities, or concepts that you are interested in? --Neopeius (talk) 03:27, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Neopeius: Oh I see, well.... The Apollo Program, the Soyuz rocket, the human mission to mars, the Falcon family of launch vehicles, and complications and implications of spaceflight at relativistic speeds. But if you're wondering about specific articles I'm interested in, I'm really not picky as long as it's designed to go into space ^_^. Mr. Cuckoo (talk) 13:39, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- What with the Apollo 11 50th anniversary coming up, and then the rest of the Apollo flights, might I direct you to some of the less filled-out portions of the Apollo program like the early uncrewed flights? For instance, Apollos 4-6 all have articles in pretty decent shape, but they could be polished up. Or, if you want to strike into truly innovative territory, there are all sorts of satellite programs with no coverage at all. I took SOLRAD, which was a very important early program, and now I'm on the cusp of several Good and even Featured articles! :) --Neopeius (talk) 18:39, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Neopeius: I'll see what I can do for the Apollo program, and there is indeed a large amount of missions lacking (or without) coverage. I've noticed that the Ranger and Luna programmes are in dire need of assistance. Question, is there anywhere I can find a list of articles regarding spacecrafts/missions that haven't been created yet? If I find something like that, I can save myself a lot of time.. Mr. Cuckoo (talk) 19:48, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- Working on Ranger and Lunar Orbiter and Surveyor (and Luna, if you can find Soviet sources) would be amazing. As for stuff that doesn't have articles, if you go to the [YEAR] in Spaceflight pages, you'll see which shots have red links. I started in January 1964 and just started working my way forward. That's how I ended up in SOLRAD, and why I'm currently working on Gemini 1 (which had an article, but rudimentary). Unfortunately, the [YEAR] in spaceflight pages get sketchy around 1968, and I'm not sure if they're being actively worked on. I plan to go through Jonathan's Space Report launch log and add some soon. --Neopeius (talk) 21:10, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Neopeius: Alright! That's a start, thanks for the assist :D Mr. Cuckoo (talk) 21:24, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Mr. Cuckoo: Actually... I started work on March in the 1966 in spaceflight page, adding spacecraft launches, and stumbled upon [[Kosmos 111], a Soviet attempt at a Lunar Orbiter competitor. Looking up the Luna program, I found that while there are individual pages for the ES-6 soft lander series, there is no overarching project page. That would be a fantastic project for you to work on, if it interests you. That kind of gateway article is invaluable. Just a suggestion. --Neopeius (talk) 03:00, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
