Speedy deletion of Carimi

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Carimi, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. iridescent (talk to me!) 19:58, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 20:17, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thanks

[edit]

I didnt know... thanks Let me try again:

YOu deleted the article under the band CaRiMi. The same band that has been referenced in the following wiki articles.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levitasyon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kompa http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haiti

Another band that has less sucess then them in the same genre was able to create a wikipedia entry. Why? Mp231 20:19, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Carimi again

[edit]

The main problem that I have with the article is that -- unlike the two articles you cited -- it's written as a promotional piece rather than a factual article, with lines like "through their allure lyrically, musically and of course physically as eye candy for the ladies", and "this dynamic cluster, has proven that talent is not only a gift but a necessity in making all your dreams a reality". Also, the article doesn't really pin down their notability. It says they won "Best Album Of The Year", but doesn't say whose award that is, or what year it was given -- in other words, that claim is not verifiable as it stands. Similarly, "risen to the top of the charts across Billboards best" doesn't tell the reader which charts to look at.

I have no problem with your reposting the article if you can write it from a neutral point of view, and if you can state specifically what makes the band notable, and provide reliable independent sources to support your claims. Thanks, NawlinWiki 20:22, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
