Request reason:
Hi, I am making another unblock request on this account since my last request went stale. I made the account because I noticed some missing pages and information and wanted to become a contributor to get that info up on Wikipedia. I didn't really understand the rules and guidelines for becoming a contributor when I made the account, but after some feedback and guidance from Wikipedia user @NinjaRobotPirate, I now have a better understanding of the compliance requirements to make contributions and edits on Wikipedia. I understand that I need to have a generic username (as opposed to a promotional username), but I still need to state that I have a COI when editing or contributing anything related to motorsports, since I have an interest in the sport. I did not clearly understand those rules clearly before and have every intention of following the guidelines going forward. Therefore, I would like to request that the block on this account is removed because I understand what I am blocked for, I will not do it again, and I will make productive contributions instead. I was also shown how to make AfC requests when applicable. Finally, I now see that if I have any questions, I can post those to my talk page and will receive support from the community.MotorsportsFan13 (talk) 05:03, 15 June 2022 (UTC)

Request reason:
Hello, I would like to request that my IP address is unblocked from Wikipedia. I have a contributor account that I would really like to regain access to. I had started building up some contributions and edits with reliable sources and would really like the opportunity to continue to do so. Unfortunately, my account was initially blocked because I had a misunderstanding of the rules on Wikipedia when I tried to create my first page. Newbie mistake that I paid for. I also see that I am being blocked for being an "undisclosed paid editor". I can assure you, I am certainly not a paid editor. I have never been paid for any editing, I have never advertised that I am an editor in any way, and I am not offering any services as such. I'm just a girl who loves information, and Wikipedia has an abundance of that. I have since been educated by some very helpful users and have every intention to follow all rules as I have great respect for the process on here. It has been over two years since I was blocked, and I would like to be released from Wikipedia jail, if you will allow me. Thank you for taking the time to consider my request.

Confirmed to Turn3Motorsport which acknowledged a conflict of interest with respect to Turn 3 Motorsport. Given your edits to Turn 3 Motorsport, now deleted, this is clearly an attempt to deceive us. Yamla (talk) 17:05, 1 August 2024 (UTC)

Request reason:
Hello, I would like to request that my IP address is unblocked from Wikipedia. I have a contributor account from years ago that I would really like to regain access to. Full disclosure: I tried to create a business account on Wikipedia under the username Turn3Motorsport to make a business page. I was not paid nor was I asked to do so. I had no idea at the time this was not allowed and was subsequently blocked. It was a shock to me, but I have since been educated and have no intentions of using that account since I know now that it is against the rules. I have been targeted and blocked as being deceitful, but really I was uneducated and paid for it with the block. I would really like the opportunity to be allowed to use Wikipedia again for contributions like I used to. I am fine with the Turn 3 Motorsport account being blocked as I now understand why I can't have it. But I would like my IP address unblocked. I am not sure how to pay for the mistake I made over two years ago. All of my history is out there, so this is not an attempt to be deceitful. All I can do is put these requests out there. Can you put me on probation or something? Thank you for considering.

Per below. Please let me know if you have any questions about editing :) And yes, you're allowed to edit about motorsports, as long as you stay away from anything to do with your business. Elli (talk | contribs) 06:26, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
You have not yet disclosed the exact nature of your relationship with Turn 3 Motorsports and with Peter Dempsey, despite claiming "full disclosure", above. Ideally, the time to disclose that was before you started editing. Continuing to fail to disclose this fully and honestly makes it vanishingly unlikely you'll be unblocked. --Yamla (talk) 17:19, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
Hi @Yamla, yes of course, I should have led with that. Peter Dempsey is my husband. He owns Turn 3 Motorsport. I wanted to help by making a Wikipedia page for the business since the business was referenced all over Wikipedia but didn't have its own page. I clearly made a mistake as I had no idea this wasn't allowed which is why I didn't disclose it at the time. I didn't know I needed to. That is also why I blatantly made a page using the business name. I was informed I couldn't have a page with the business name so I made this page. Also against the rules, as I found out. This was over two years ago, and I see my IP address is still blocked. From what I understand, I can make edits to pages as a contributor with reliable sources as long as I state I have a COI? That's what I would like to be able to do. Happy to provide more info as needed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MotorsportsFan13 (talk • contribs)
- A sincere thank you for coming clean. Note that you are also directly involved with Turn 3 Motorsport and should have mentioned that you are a co-owner, but hey. You are now trying to convince the next reviewing admin, not me, but I will say it's probably unlikely you'll be unblocked to write about your business. You may well be able to convince a reviewing admin to unblock you if you agree to refrain from direct edits and instead simply suggest edits on the article talk page. That means the edits may or may not happen, and it may take a while for anyone to act on your request. Alternatively, if you agree to refrain from editing subjects for which you have a conflict of interest, I'd say there's a good chance you'll be unblocked. It's certainly your choice how you'd like to proceed. Regardless, I sincerely wish you and your husband and your company much success and luck. It must be great fun participating in motorsports! --Yamla (talk) 18:12, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Yamla, thank you for the reply, and I sincerely appreciate you providing further information regarding direct edits versus suggested edits. I now understand not being able to directly write about the business and will not attempt to do so. I never had the intention to break any rules and have respect for them. I agree to refrain from making edits where I may have a conflict of interest. If I see something that could be edited where I may have a conflict of interest, I will make a suggestion on the article talk page per your suggestion and state that I have a COI. Is that allowed? Thank you for the well wishes as well, I appreciate it. :) MotorsportsFan13 (talk) 18:21, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
- You have an account, so forget about your IP address and focus on your account. The autoblock on the IP will be removed when the block is removed. What topics might you contribute about (directly) other than your business? 331dot (talk) 07:21, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @331dot, thank you for the reply! Some topics I would like to contribute about include Broadway, Disney, movies/television, and other motorsports related news. Am I allowed to contribute to other motorsport related news (such as about drivers, stats, etc) as long as it isn't anything to do with my business? Let me know what is permitted. Thank you! - I'd be willing to unblock here. Jimfbleak thoughts? Elli (talk | contribs) 01:24, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
