If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
below this notice.
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
below this notice instead. Thank you. Alexf(talk) 13:12, 19 February 2013 (UTC)Morturn (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Hi there My username does not represent a group or organization. My website is a personal website and is not commercial or does it advertise goods or services. I believe that my username complies with the username policy and the arbitrary blocking of this username did not.
Accept reason:
As below; won't link to site. --jpgordon::==( o ) 15:35, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
I'm concerned about this edit, where you added a link to your website. Will you agree to not link to your website if unblocked? It looks a bit much like search engine optimization, which shows a conflict of interest and is frowned upon. Origamiteⓣⓒ 13:28, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- Why, I wonder, was this editor blocked in 2013 based upon a single edit made in 2007? --jpgordon::==( o ) 15:25, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- And at the time of the block, they hadn't edited in almost two years (as far as I can see). @Alexf:, why did you do this? Origamiteⓣⓒ 15:51, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Origamite: During periodic cleanup (done at the time), it was seen as a username that links to her own website that matches the username. Softerblock was applied and a message with instructions on what to do/how to request a review of tghe block, was posted (as seen above). When the user responds to your question about the edit, I would be willing to reconsider in this case, as the other few edits are not spammy. -- Alexf(talk) 16:01, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

The link to my personal website was to a page that gave supporting and reference material to the article about the Aust Ferry. I had been in direct contact with a descendant of Enock Williams, the ferry owner. I also included on the page photographs that I had taken and had flagged under creative commons for attribution and none commercial use.
I also placed a similar link in an article about the river Severn and the ships graveyard at Purton.
It was, and continues to be, my honest belief that I was contributing to the body of knowledge when this link was placed. These pages no longer exist.
My username does indeed match my domain name, as does it match my email address; its just how I organise myself and not for any personal gain. I would only wish to be an occasional editor. --Morturn (talk) 21:35, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- Most important thing is that you not link to your own website. That OK with you? Nothing wrong with your contributions as a whole. --jpgordon::==( o ) 23:08, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
For sure, I an ok with that.--Morturn (talk) 14:14, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
